OK, instead of pancakes, may I interest you in the house specialty? See, you take french or sourdough bread, and cut it into 1-2 inch slices on a diagonal. Then you mix up eggs, cream, orange extract and vanilla extract and dip the bread into that, soaking it pretty well. Menawhile, you should have a large pan with about half an inch of oil ready and waiting on the stove...heated on a medium-high flame. Slip the bread into the hot oil, and brown on each side. Remove to paper towels, and if fixing a large batch, place them in a warm oven until ready to serve. Arrange two pieces on a plate with butter and fresh berries, and serve with syrup of choice...I like berry syrup best, and freshly whipped heavy cream. I also like bacon or sausage with it. Eat and enjoy!* I've made Hollywood types willingly give up their diets for that breakfast when they stayed at my B&B! *Wheelbarrow not provided.
