Brain -> Church of Scientology Sues Daughters of St. Paul for Publishing Book by Catholic (1/7/2010 12:03:56 AM)

I don't trust Scientologists or the Catholic Church or Italian courts (after they convicted an innocent American girl) to tell the truth .

Church of Scientology Sues Daughters of St. Paul for Publishing Book by Catholic - Catholic Online

As reported on the Clerical Whispers Blog (clericalwhispers.blogspot.com), the books, co-authored by Italian Catholic journalist Alberto Laggia and Italian Catholic Maria Pia Gardini, have been widely reviewed in Italy.

“Gardini is a former adherent of Scientology and member of its Sea Org elite, who run everything in Scientology and its front groups under the leadership of David Miscavige. She returned to full practice of Catholicism after leaving.”

“Whispers” notes that the lawsuit, along with reports of forced abortions in Sea Org, puts Scientology and its leader David Miscavige at risk of building a greater enmity with Catholics around the world.

Was there a point or question to this?

People and organizations have a right to sue if they wish.  Tort does not require proof of damages to file the suit, only to win it.

A person has the right to publish a book.  Unless the statements in the book are truely libelous, who cares?   It is up to the reader to decide whether a book is worth reading.

I'm more curious how you come to the conclusion that a convicted murderer is innocent?  Were you there?  Do you have information that could have helped the defense?

To be fair to Brain, the $cientologists have long been notorious for nuisance law suits, and this is a long way from the first critical book they've tried to litigate out of print.

The Church of Scientology is notorious for filing suit against anyone and any organization that questions their beliefs.

Scientology doing what scientology does.

It's a fairly despicable organisation even by religious standards.....or the standards to which modern religions are held to in the west anyways.

Might wanna check out
