All I need is some crazy person to grab your gun when I'm buying some groceries or a pair of pants and to blow my brains out. And for what, just because you want to carry a gun to prove a point, whatever that point might be.

I still remember Hinkley, I think that was his name, blowing John Lennon's brains out in New York City and they even had gun control in New York, a lot of good that did with people carrying guns across state lines.

Currently there is a feud between the Tea Party Patriots and the Tea Party Express. The Patriots have accused the TPE of being inauthentic and too close to the GOP, and have gone as far as to sue one of the party's founders, Amy Kremer, after she became involved with the TPE. As factionalism poses a possible threat the the Tea Party, alliances with local organizations like the Alamogordo Second Amendment Task Force may strengthen the Tea Party's base of support.

Forget the Second Amendment.  Try the First.  Or any one of our rights.  We don't exercise them, we stand to lose them.

I'm not interested in being around people with guns any more than I would be with smokers. I'm a risk averter and I'm not putting my life in danger just because somebody wants to act tough. You can say you're carrying it or packing it for any noble reason you want but I am not buying it.

Oh well.

So let me ask, why do you carry a gun if you are not scared of something that you might need it for?

I also own guns, so we can be clear about that, but I see no reason to take one with me when I go shopping.

My Master carries a gun mostly at work as He has to carry cash.  He is not afraid.  He is not paranoid.  He is simply prepared to defend Himself as there are people who would be aware of the cash he is required to carry.

Sometimes He carries a gun for the exact same sort of reason He from time to time drenches my face in His urine.  Because He wants to and because He can.

It is your right to not be around guns or smoke.  However, I fail to see how someone carrying a gun puts you at risk.  Do you have information that links carry permits to gun deaths?  Because of the requirement to obtain a concealed weapons permit, that person is probably much less a risk to you than the teenager at WalMart trying to text and drive her way around the parking lot. 

I have no problem with people not carrying guns.  Amend the Constitution to take away my rights.  Perhaps once the convicted felons get the right to vote, we can get rid of that pesky Second Amendment.

Just think Brain, someday we may have state border crossing checkpoints to eliminate that sorta thing from happening. I've heard it worked pretty well in the U.S.S.R.

I am a gun owner; I proudly taught rifle classes to my Scouts when my son was younger, and bought him a rifle when he was 16. I have considered several times joining the NRA, to add my opinions to their group.

My point is that I am not anti-gun. I think gun control laws are largely ineffective, and strongly support people's right to own them.

However, articles like this, about the Tea Party folk bringing guns to meetings shows why gun owners are often derided as crazed Travis Bickles who spend hours posing in front of a mirror with their beloved pistols, or mumbling about black helicopter conspiracies while they polish and clean their assault rifles.

The folks had no rational reason for bringing guns to their meeting- what, they thought their fellow Tea Partiers were going to draw down on them? That some Code Pink loons would show up and it would be a free-fire zone? That they would need to lay down suppressing fire, in order to find a place to park? "Cover me Marge, I'm going to pass the white Tahoe!"

These people are in love with psychodrama and the romance of street theater; they love to posture as revolutionaries fighting The Man. If your local Costco or Applebee's is in such a place where it makes sense to bring a loaded firearm, then you either live in Baghdad, or you should get your head examined.

Well what's wrong with it? Women carry guns in their purses all the time and they should, you just don't know it. Obviously some people don't like to see guns, so that's why we have concealed weapons laws, but true Americans who grew up with people driving down the road with rifles hanging in their back window aren't the least bit intimidated. At least when someone carries a gun, you show some respect don't you???

Without a gun you're just a victim waiting to happen. Let's say you're camping out and see a stranger coming up to your site, what are you going to do if he suddenly whips out a shotgun? Without a gun you only have two choices, beg for your life or bend over and take it up the arse, then beg for your life.

I would rather take the 3rd choice, and run into the tent and surprise him.

Free men own guns, slaves don't.
