For those new to Gor or to this forum, these threads address Frequently Asked Questions:

For those wishing to learn about Gor
Starting FAQ Thread
Everything you wanted to know about Goreans, but were afraid to ask
The Newcomer

Those with some Gor experience/knowledge might be interested in these:
What is beyond the simple definition of "What is this Gor stuff all about?"
Honor, Code, and your Life.

You can also find a host of discussions on specific points--in the upper right hand corner is a "search" link. Click it, and you'll see you can make it specific to the Gorean board, as well as narrow your search to Topics only and in a variety of other ways.

For example, here’s a collection of links on the subject of Home Stone:
Home Stone question threads

Some other threads you might find useful:

Here is a link to a list of the Gor books
Where can I find the Gor books?

Silk and Steel also has a good introductory thread:
"WHAT IS GOR: THE FUNDAMENTAL BASICS"

Lots of people have questions about how slaves are considered livestock in the books. This thread discusses that issue:
Livestock, Gor, BDSM, Vanilla, and Reading the Books

Here too are collections of links addressing commonly repeated questions:
BDSM vs. Gor
Gor and love
For the girl seeking a Gorean Master

People have also suggested these web sites:

Gorean Live Networks
House of Malkinius
Fogaban
Luther’s Gorean Educational Scrolls
Gorean Public Boards (requires log-in)
Chronicles of Gor (Simon’s site)

Enjoy, and welcome to the Gorean forum!

When we originally did the FAQ threads, the "slaves thread" was always on the front page. Since then, however, it has faded from view. A lot of curious folk are girls wondering about Gorean slavery, so I thought it would be good to add that slaves thread here. Enjoy!

Questions come up periodically about the Caste Codes. The World of Gor site has a page devoted to quotes about the codes:

Well this was not helpful, I thought perhaps this thread would explain and answer some FAQ's as the intro implied

"For those wishing to learn about Gor
Starting FAQ Thread
Everything you wanted to know about Goreans, but were afraid to ask
The Newcomer

Those with some Gor experience/knowledge might be interested in these:
What is beyond the simple definition of "What is this Gor stuff all about?"
Honor, Code, and your Life."

Might be nice if the thread did more than identify what I might want to know.

We spent several months debating and laying out this thread. They are indeed the questions that were asked frequently. VERY frequently, in fact.

You, apparently, have some infrequently asked questions. You should start a new thread if you'd like them answered.

Musicmystery....

I don't think that she followed the links, only read them. She expected everything to be in one, nice, neat and tidy package for her so she wouldn't have to do much work, if any.

Well that was certainly and bizarrely defeatist.

Anytime there are links to outside sites, what happens down the road is up to those outside sites, and thus, those links can age.

Since, however, the vast majority of links in the FAQs are links to threads in this forum, and are very much active and working, you could learn quite a bit with a little patience.

And without a little patience, no one is going to learn much of value about Gor. It takes more effort than that.

Thanks to Ishtar for the revised Silk & Steel link.

I clicked on this having never heard of it before. I wondered about the name. Now I'm really really confused. All I wanted was a quick paragraph to explain something and I've read an hour's worth of philosophy about an imaginary planet that I'm not entirely sure if people who like Gor believe is real or if it's a religion, or some form of told play, or just a story they take their values from. I am just so confused lmfao

JessieFly....
It is a series of 34 novels written by a Professor of Philosophy to explain his philosophical ideas about how humans should be and behave, to tell a story and since they started 50 years ago to make a few dollars to help out a new philosophy professor just getting started. After millions of copies sold and finally retiring in his 80's, he is still writing and still giving philosophical lessons through the books. For some people it is online role playing. For others just something they enjoy reading. For a few, we resonate with the philosophy and endeavor to understand it and live according to it. Concepts like honor, honesty, responsibility, community and caring for those around us and the world we live in are major parts of that. Goreans understand that everyone is not the same. We are not all interchangeable cogs in the machine with the only difference being our plumbing. We also understand that some people are naturally more dominant than others and some naturally more submissive and most people have good bits of both and are some where in the middle. Some Goreans add the the ultimate expression of the dichotomy of dominance and submission with consensual slavery, usually male dominant and female submissive as that is the way humanity as a whole is wired and skewed. Individual people vary everywhere along the spectrum irregardless if they are male or female.

The one thing all Goreans agree on is if you want to understand us, you have to start where we did and read the books. It all begins there.
