OttersSwim -> CollarMe Domme's Predict the Future! (1/9/2010 10:57:24 PM)

The fresh faced young man steps tentatively up to the old colorful wagon and peers through the door into the darkness inside...a woman's voice beckons him to come inside.

"I can predict the future young man..." She says.

The boy steps up the steps slowly, allowing his eyes to adjust to the dim interior.  "Hello Miss...Ma'am...uh..." he stammers, and nods giving a nervous smile.

"Come, come!  Sit and be welcome...you have come with questions, and I have answers for you!" says the woman coming out of the shadows, her gypsy garb colorful.

As the young man comes deeper in, many candles erupt into flame as if by magic. He notices implements on the walls, collars and cuffs, bars and clips, lengths of chain, leather and steel.  Yes, this is the right place.  As the woman takes her place gracefully his attention is again drawn to her.  She is younger than he had thought a fortune teller would be.  Her eyes hold him and he is drawn forward on to soft pillows.

She removes a pouch from her braided belt and fans out a deck of cards in black and red on a low dark table.

She fixes him with dark eyes.  "You may ask any question young man, and I will answer you as best I can.  My eyes see far and wide, up the future, and down the past.  My cards know secrets and uncover lies.  My ears hear spirits of man and fae."  She sits back and spreads her hands...waiting.

Screwing up his courage, he asks his first question.  "Lady...I am told you know many things.  I have taken my first steps into the world of BDSM and I...I am curious about its future.  I understand you know much about this path.  I am wondering then...what will the future of this life be?  Say, twenty years from now, what will we find?  What will our community look like?  Will there be a community?  How will we communicate?  Please, look into your cards and tell me the future!"

Life-like robot submissives that we can program to meet all our needs and who we can turn off and put in the closet after.

I've already pre-ordererd my Gerard Butler model and a Clive Owen model. They had a 2 for 1 special on pre-orders.

Wasn't there something similar to that in the movie AI? What the hell was his name? The guy who slept with the nanny? Ok that isn't helping, quite a few have done that. Ok, I went and looked it up. Jude Law. In the movie he was a "Love Bot" or something like that. Basically a freelance robot gigalo.

"Gigolo Joe." Funny, I don't remember much about AI, except the Boy Sex-bot in a very fine J. Law model. "Hey, Joe. What do you know?" Hey, Jane. How's the game?"

LA, I can't find the boybots.com website. I want to order my R.M. Taylor mark 26 model. He sings, he drums, he likes to wear silk satin emerald teddy numbers. Oh, wait, is it a dot-eu, dot-ca, or dot-jp url?

LadyPact -> RE: CollarMe Domme's Predict the Future! (1/10/2010 8:18:49 AM)

As you know, we gypsies tend to be late night creatures.  Since this one is up quite early and hasn't had enough caffeine before morning light, she's not as whimsical in her approach.  It also makes seeing in the crystal ball a little less clear.  There are beams of hope mixed in the shadows.  They may or may not come to pass.

One thing I see are fewer lost souls.  Less will be those who can not find their path.  The obstacles that prevent knowledge will be long since cleared.  Ignorance due to lack of education or resources will be a distant memory.  Fresh faces to the path of BDSM will more often be young adults and less often those who had desires to join us, but didn't know where we could be found.  There will still be those who come to us later in life, but it will be because of new found interest.  Not so much the hidden desires that they could not find out had a name or existed.

Come and gone will be our BDSM is the new black phase.  Mainstream media knows that sex sells and whatever they can introduce to the general public to make them think there is more exciting sex out there only remains fresh for so long.  Such was the way of interracial couples, bisexual females, and other scenarios that were tabboo at first.  As the shock value wears off, acknowldgment if not acceptance sets in.  The destiny of such a method must be short lived for it to succeed.  What will be next, I can not say.  The shadows of the future are easily altered.

I do see our numbers becoming greater.  At least those obvious to the eye.  Some things will have changed that make some of those today living this life feel that they need to hide.  This transformation will not yet be complete.  Some roads are longer than others.  We will have to celebrate our accomplishments as they come and still be willing to have patience in others.  All things will come in time, but we also must know that it won't necessarily be in this time.

Twenty years is not enough to win all of the battles on all fronts.  Not when we face challenges of prejudice that have existed for hundreds of years.  These wars are harder fought when there is contention in our own ranks.  As in all wars, there will be heros, martyrs, and villians.  Every age has such as these.  It is not the future, but history, that determines which side they were really on.

Where is your place in all of this, seeker of knowledge?  Do you think it is your destiny to sit on the sidelines?  To watch events play out while you go along your merry way?  Perhaps your role in all of this is to be a voice.  Perhaps you will take what has been said here today and capitalize on those beacons of hope.  It may entirely be that you were sent here, to consult a gypsy, to find your path.  Maybe, just maybe, the answer of the future was within you all along.

That will be two dollars, please.

First, a somewhat relevant quote about the future for content providers:

Free copies of content are going to be what you use to establish your fame. Then you go out & milk it. ~ Esther Dyson ~

Okay, most excellent notion, this thread.

20 years is too brief a time period to see exciting change, tho'. After all, I've been a sci-fi freak for all of 30 years & I am still frustratedly waiting for moon bases. & mining of the asteroid belts. & LaGrange point colonies. & the beginnings of terraforming Mars. & those are 50 to 100 year old technologies, mostly . . . . So . .. .

Anyways, lets say closer to a century or two (or three) out, so we can anticipate more thrilling shifts . . . .

The FuckBot 3000 will be the most exciting development. Featuring FluidFlesh, conformable to one's desire for the exterior physical appearance (face, breasts, genitals, etc), & built in plethysmograph technology, so that your FuckBot 3000 will be able to read your desires. Sometimes before you even know what you want . . . . Fully self-programmable AI operates on thousands of variables, with hundreds of preset combinations such as 'Perky College Cheerleader', 'Service Top', 'Doormat Slave', or 'Mature Strong Masculine Submissive' .

Dungeons, sex clubs, & honeymoon hotel rooms in microgravity environments will also add to the options kinksters will have available. (& yes, I agree that unnecessary societal strictures against consensually based adult behaviors will probably continue to widen the social space considered 'normal', & thus there'll be more kinksters proportionately, ultimately.) Hell, micrograv (aka zero g) isn't even necessary to revolutionize human sexual expression. The first lunar bases & the 20-ish% of Earth-normal gravity there will change ballet, gymnastics, ice-skating, & wild sexual acrobatics, lol . . ..

Feelies are the next logical step after 3D stereovision in the filmic / teevee entertainment, & clearly, like so much filmic entertainment, porn will be in the forefront as culture driver. With Feelies, I feel certain that porn will be the prime mover & shaker into that technology shift. Feelies will allow us to feel another's experience -- see, smell, taste, hear, feel, & understand thru another's consciousness. Men will finally feel the female orgasm, & the other way 'round. The ability to feel vibrantly & in a way that others enjoy sharing will become a new criteria for entertainers, partially leveling previous criteria around appearance & youth . . . .

The future's so bright I gotta wear shades, yeah, baby!

Look for the Demon, Kia, author tour coming to a major urbanity near you in the next few years . .. . [;)]

We're all going to die. I guarantee this prediction as eventually coming true in every single case.

(grin)

I charge for all other predictions.

you're right they are in "Brave New World" as their version of the cinema.

DemonKia -> RE: CollarMe Domme's Predict the Future! (1/12/2010 3:31:41 AM)

Busted on all accounts . . . .

Varley's been a huge influence in large part because of the frank sexuality . . . . .

Tho' that ridiculous Chris Walken / Natalie Wood movie had an enormous impact on my ability to visualize how it would look & feel to share experience . . . .

Oh, & must not forget Spider Robinson, he's done a lot about 'jacking in' / 'direct interface' & that will clearly lead to / tie into 'Feelies' ... . .

hardbodysub -> RE: CollarMe Domme's Predict the Future! (1/12/2010 8:19:47 AM)

I predict that everyone will finally learn that apostrophes indicate contractions or possessives, and are both improper and superfluous in the creation of plural nouns. And then Hell will freeze over.

Oh, I had forgotten that, hadn't I? Well, if you've ever read Varley, perhaps you'll understand why he's the author whose work came to mind. He explored the idea of that technology and its impact rather expertly.

DemonKia -> RE: CollarMe Domme's Predict the Future! (1/13/2010 5:44:15 PM)

John Varley is my favorite sci-fi writer, tho' admittedly I've read relatively few other authors.

Part of the problem was that I read his Titan-Wizard-Demon trilogy when I was a teen & everything fictional seems pale & insipid after that . . . . His short stories are also really thought provoking. He has a lot of fun with adult sexuality & pleasure seeking & technological possibilities. Thumbs way up for his short stories & the aforementioned trilogy.

Oh, & Millenium, I like that a lot, too . . . . Too much to ever see the movie, I just can't do that to myself; casting alone frightened me deeply. ETA: I totally cop to stealing my FuckBot 3000 idea from Varley's Millenium, from the valet-bot the main character, Louise Baltimore, has taking care of her in her future existence.
