I imagine that imagery could be associated with the story of The Garden of Eden, how Eve was seduced by the snake, then went on to seducing Adam. For those with a possible dissonance between their sexual/kink lives and their religious beliefs, I can see where this type of imagery could be a seductive influence. Otherwise, I have no clue. Snakes are cool and half-naked women are cool. Put both of them together and it's still cool. But then again, so is the imagery of a naked woman skiing down the side of a mountain or wearing an open parka in the middle of a snow covered forest.
