I agree... seems to me the smart thing would be to Ask them what they are meaning if what is stated should lack any clarity. But.... sometimes people are afraid of the answer and it is better for them to string along their fantasy than live in the reality.

There is nothing specific that I look for..... there is a whole list of possibiliites and it's the combination of all those things that will intrique me or not. I do not seek to have specific check list for someone to meet them to gain my interest. I actually seek to appreciate the person for who they are and on the whole that person will either draw me or not.

if meeting at my place for example( it would be after several emails etc and have had some dynamics established), potential slave sits down and lights up a cigarette, is going to get a lot different response than if i would had been asked first. if meeting in  a public place, it would be as you described. demeanor, etc. i like a person self confident, but displaying signs of submissiveness to me. i have no intention of "breaking" someone, but not opposed to training someone.

experience levels i am not concerned with too much as that will grow with time,but there is a certain kind of behavior that i would be expecting to see from this person coming to me as a sub, looking to be owned or just play. either way i expect a sub to carry itself like a submissive, when approaching me.

You're setting yourself up or failure. Although there are plenty of 'wants to be' (wannabes), and dos, to choose from; the reason I wanted to meet was to see the woman who is aware of herself and represents in person exactly who she is.

its possibly semantics, but when i think of 'wanting to be' by that i mean i want to 'be' (me) for me to 'be' means i am in a place with someone where being who i am is given space to relax and just 'be'.

i do a fair amount of reading between the lines. there is much to be read from what isnt written but possibly intimated or maybe even avoided. people can hide behind words very easily, they can expose an aspect of their personality simply by the way they word something or suggest something. more can be gleaned from between the words than the words actually written down.
