Layfayettelady is right, we have plenty of people in the U.S. who should be getting that help and they are "entitled" to it as U.S. Citizens.
There are 6 billion people in the world and most of them are poor, it's not the job of U.S. Taxpayers to make them "un-poor."

What crap. Popeye, to say we have plenty of people here who need help when everytime there has been an attempt to spread healthcare to the uninsured our government is met with a vigorous campaign against it! The only thing that matters here anymore is non-productive profit of the Financial interests and their lackies at the Federal Reserve and Treasury.

Vincent, I believe in healthcare for all U.S. Citizens! You won't get any argument from me there.
But not this current bill as it is written. I'd like to see a healthcare system like Canada's!
I think we could learn a few things from our friends to the North.

I agree, Popeye, and from EU socialism as well.

Vincent, lol, don't push too far Paisan!

Funny, the "liberals" don't want to admit that they're liberal. Could it be that they *got OWNED* by Obama in the last election?
You don't hear the Republicans complaining as all their wealthy friends get bailed out by, "our friend in the White House" President Obama.
We'll see all the extremely wealthy lobbyists in the Virginia and Maryland suburbs with "Obama" signs in their front yards of their 20,000 sq ft mansions in 2012. lol

A wee bit of history:

  • 16 July 1946:  Pursuant to Executive Order 9083 and Reorganization Plan No. 3 the Bureau of Marine Inspection was abolished and became a permanent part of the Coast Guard under Treasury Department control.
  • 1 April 1967:  Executive Order 167-81 transferred the Coast Guard from the Treasury Department to the newly-formed Department of Transportation.

  • 1 March 2003, the Coast Guard formally transferred from the Department of Transportation to the newly-created Department of Homeland Security.

I hate to bore you with details, tazzy, but the US Navy was formed in 1775, while the US Coast Guard was formed in 1790

That was the continental navy. The U.S. Navy does not occure until we have a United States. So with the constitution which authorizes a navy in 1789 we finally get a Navy but it takes another five or six years for them to get around to building them any boats.
