I think it depends. Does he know your new to this? Is he really into you? Is he an experienced sub or new to this? Is he patient?
You need to talk to him in depth. You can't push any of the right buttons if you don't know what his buttons are.
Even the more experienced are left feeling daunted when faced with a sub who says 'you can do whatever you want to me Mistress' because getting it right is the key thing for joint enjoyment.
Is it the dominating (being in control) that worries you or the physical?
