http://www.cat-health-behavior.com/cathealthproblemsbaldingspots.html Reading this- I dont think my cat has things that badly. Is there anything diet wise I can do? There is a small patch of missing hair near the tail. Thinning might be a better word for it. However no inching. Any thoughts?

When cats itch they overgroom at the base of the tail. I had a cat going bald at the base of the tail and a visit to the vet helped clear it up dramatically . It turned out she was allergic to fleas, and that was easily cured.

She needs to be checked by a vet. Don't self diagnose this unless you have some sort of background that would qualify you to do so. From your question, I'm assuming you don't.

I agree with blushes - see a vet. However, I give my cat Dreamcoat by Halo. It's an oil blend that gives your pet (dog or cat or...?) a shiny, healthy coat. When I first brought my little guy home, his fur was thin and patchy and coming out in clumps :( I added a tablespoon of Dreamcoat to each meal and in a relatively short time his fur began thickening and becoming healthy. You can get it online, or at PetCo. It's about $15 for a bottle and will last a long time.

Seriously, I had a wolf hybrid with the same priblem and it cleared up with a supplement in his diet of fish oil caps and benadryl. Ask your vet for dosages tho. Obviously the dosage for 146# of wolf hybrid and the dosage for a cat would be a weeee bit different. Good luck

As it turns out I have a home vet cat book- and it has quite a bit of info in it. So far it is not something to be alarmed about. I sounds tho like I need to brush her.

Uhm yerse...cats often go bald due to lack of brushing. She NEEDS to see the vet!!

One of my cats has a nervous habit of obsessive cleaning. She's licked all the fur off her belly which looks really odd when you have a black/white kitty. I took her to the vet and after spending more money then I'll admit to, we (the vet and I) came to the conclusion that could be related to the food I had her on, which I changed, or she just wanted to be a clean puss. She's better now all except for the pink peach-fuzz covered belly. Well if you find a cure give me a buzz. I need it for my forehead [;)] Seriously. You need to see a vet. My first St. Bernard got it mostly on the legs and it was a scininfection which was easily cured. The vet had seen it hundreds of times before.

Hm had a cat once...he had a little patch of hair missing, (about the size of a dime) and a couple of weeks later...he had no hair left on his back at all. We do not have indoor/outdoor cats...this was an indoor cat. You honestly need to see a vet!!

PA, seeriously, take that cat to a vet. It could be mange, fleas or something worse. By not doing so, you are neglecting your pet.
