Must have been someone else Allthat jazz. I Put mine up in November.

I sure hope that you aren't reading about me in the obituaries, wandersalone.

And the one that said that it was his boat. Naw, see "I'M" the guy with the girls sailing around the world. You're just jealous.

Jeffff -> RE: oh yeah cuz that will turn out great! (1/30/2010 10:17:36 AM)

I am happy, you are happy.

And if you click your heels together 3 times... you can go back to Kansas.

Although why you would want to go to Kansas is beyond Me.

Capt.Jeff

So.. a pirate walks into a bar with a steering wheel stuck in his pants.
The bartender says " Whats up with the steering wheel"
The pirate says..."arrrrrrgggghhh it's drivin' me nuts!"

thank you, I'll be here all week, don't forget to spank your waitress!

Oh, I get it. The thread is so people can list positive experiences on here so that you guys can shoot them down! Such fun. I sort of missed that on the thread discription.
Had any of you, corresponded with me or for that matter, anyone else who had, you'd know that Nicki is also USCG licensed (100 tons), one has extensive blue water sailing experience, eventhough she lacks certification and one is a recent graduate of the tall ship sailing school in Nova Scotia. We have plenty of time to train the rest but even running short the four of us can sail the boat anywhere, any time. We will train the rest and do sea trials BEFORE we start out and as all good sailors, leave a projected course and ETA for the next port with the harbour master of the port we are in when we set sail any where we go. Any problems with crew should come out in sea trials. Perhaps Capt. Jeff would know about clicking heels to get to Kansas, because one sure can't get there by the ocean, but if taking pot shots at others helps get you through the day, have at it. Some people live for the mundane and some people don't. What I'm doing may not be your cup of tea but I'll have mine with two sugars, please.

I don't know, I've seen and heard of stranger things.  If it is real, giving the benefit of the doubt, I wish you calm waters and smooth sailing.  Frankly, I think it sounds like great fun and could stand to have me a crew of 14ish cute little femmy boys on a boat around the world. :)

“leave a projected course and ETA for the next port with the harbour master of the port we are in when we set sail any where we go”

Pirates pay those harbor masters for tips on good boats to jack. Last time my dad did that, the crew of a shrimp boat tried to board them. He ended up out running them in a storm, only to put into port in Nicaragua. A few days later, the president saw his boat and literally stole it. It was nice boat. An Islander with air conditioning, 6 staterooms, stabilizers, autopilot & GPS (which was a big thing back in the 70s).

His experience has taught him to leave his true course with friends and lie to harbor masters.

So your boat is called Nicki? So link us some pics!

Huntertn -> RE: oh yeah cuz that will turn out great! (1/31/2010 8:31:18 AM)

he's rioght you know. even back in the earily 80 when I left the navy we'd been warned by ins agents to Not leave mostmasters that much. better to leave it with friends..much much more safer..but hey, do what you want, its your dream..lol..and I gotta say its a good one

This is supposed to be about positive experiences, so when you get back from your trip, or even get part way through, then go ahead and post about it, but until then, it's just a dream waiting to happen. Oh and don't forget to wave when you sail past Mistress Lynn.

MasterCsea -> RE: oh yeah cuz that will turn out great! (2/1/2010 4:54:59 AM)

Resident Sadist,
Right you are. I've been sailing for most of my life so I've kind of developed my own list of safeties. Members of yacht clubs, liveaboard sailors, habourmasters(in the United States and its territories)  retired coast guard and navy, and merchant ship captains that I know personally. And on this kind of trip, plans can change. I am sure that we will take a little time in Fiiji, and Tonga, and Bora Bora for example and that could well be as far as we get! I've sailed a lot of the world but doing it chartering for the rich and on fishing boats isn't all that fun and this will be fun.
And as one of you mentioned above, until we head out in October for real, it is just a fantasy. But I have the boat, I have the girls, and the fantasy is getting a lot closer these days. I've been toying with the idea of putting up an adventure blog with videos when we set out so if anyone is interested in keeping up with that let me know and I'll give you the URL when we get it going if I decide to do one.

Why is the theme song to Gilligan's Island running through my head?

That could be a great new reality show!! How about..."Island Bound"?

UniqueRaven -> RE: oh yeah cuz that will turn out great! (2/1/2010 7:41:33 AM)

i just remember how in college, at the beginning of every semester i *loved* all my female roommates and we were all going to be BFF's, and by the end of the semester we were lucky if someone didn't have all their stuff out on the front lawn. And we weren't shut in on a boat together, working together in good weather and in bad, all day long. [;)]

Good luck though, and positive wishes for the adventure of a lifetime. And it would be interesting to see video from the journey - you might even have an awesome (cable!) reality show on your hands.

LittleLady89 -> RE: oh yeah cuz that will turn out great! (2/1/2010 7:56:32 AM)

Lol...Its going to be hell living with ten women on the same mentrual cycle and then you gotta deal with the jealousy and all that bullcrap. Women can be a little crazy. I don't know if you know that but I had to let you know...hehe.

MasterCsea -> RE: oh yeah cuz that will turn out great! (2/1/2010 11:23:43 AM)

Well, you are right, Little Lady and Unique Raven. They probably will not behave all of the time. So it is a good thing that sea Captains know so much about how to tie knots and boats have lots of rope.
And if it was Gilligan's Island, xxBlushesxx, at least Gilligan, Mr. and Mrs. Howell, and Gilligan aren't on this trip. Mary Anne and Ginger. Now that's another story. They can come if they want to!

domsheldon -> RE: oh yeah cuz that will turn out great! (2/3/2010 4:53:45 AM)

I do not know why everyone flamed this thread. Just reading it made me excited. I mean if I were female it wouldn't matter my stance I would kill for that kind of opportunity to go see the world.

I have a smilar dream myself, pending for some reason I make stupid amounts of money and a few years to do it. I would personally like to have a blimp built to travel the world in, something large that would accommodate many of the amenity that a cruise ship would. (Mainly I would want it to have an amazing wall of crystal clear windows at the bow of this behemoth  which is of course the view from the Marble floored ball room, with the captains chair and controls overlooking the whole deal.).

But alas tis only a dream, so I can not say anything bad about this because at least this guy is trying to live his fantasy.

I just keep thinking 'mutiny on the bounty'.....or however that went. And seeing HIM all trussed up in his rope, screaming bloody murder, watching helplessly while the women take over.

MasterCsea -> RE: oh yeah cuz that will turn out great! (2/3/2010 11:28:34 AM)

Thanks Domsheldon. I can't understand why people torched my little adventure either.I hope that one day you do get to live out a fantasy like that one day. By trying to live my fantasy, I've even helped LaTigresse have a little one all her own! As I recall, however, those who took over the HMS Bounty ended up stranded on Pitcairn Island, became cannibals, and infected the locals they didn't eat with veneral diseases they brought with them from England. Oops. Sorry. Shouldn't have stepped on your little fantasy. That would just be wrong. Wait a minute...LoL
