VaguelyCurious -> Leg-waxing (1/20/2010 8:57:00 AM)

I'm thinking of waxing a sub's legs as part of a scene. I'm a little worried, because I am very much a razor sort of girl, so I'm not entirely sure what I'm doing.

I did a forum search for 'leg waxing', but most of the results that came up seemed to be asides in threads about shaving.

Someone (I'm really sorry, I can't remember who it was or what the thread was) mentioned in a recent thread that sugaring was better than waxing because of the mess factor-that's the sort of information I'm looking for-the stuff that isn't immediately obvious to a wax virgin like me. Any other tips/experiences/thoughts?

(Obviously I'm going to practice on my own legs before I go anywhere near the girl's.)

You want something like Sally Hansen's Honey Hair Remover or Nads No-Heat Hair Removal Gel. What the stuff is is sort of like glue, it's just made from honey and/or sugar.

You apply the stuff to the area to be waxed, following the direction of the hair growth. You then place over that a strip of some material that looks sort of like filter paper, and smooth it down onto the stickum you have applied. Usually the warming action of your hands as you smooth it down melts the stickum a bit and lets it adhere well to the hair.  Then you grab the bottom of the strip of material and rip up against the direction of hair growth, while holding the skin in the area tight against the pull. Voilá!

The sugaring products will wash off with warm water in the shower,and this is necessary because you always have traces of sticky left behind. True hair removal wax will come off with baby oil and mineral spirits but it's a giant PITA - I *much* prefer the easy cleanup with sugaring.

Thankyou! I'm really looking forward to this now [:D]

Be sure to pull against the growth of the hair staying *parallel* to the skin, not pulling up or at an angle.

I am a total convert to Nads, it's much better than the stuff you need to heat up, and washes off more cleanly!
