...okay so I waited more than two years to sum up the nerve to see a Pro-Domme.

Anyhow, at the start of this week, I poked around the Internet, found what looked like a decent PD and emailed her to organise a Friday afternoon session.

I had to phone up Friday morning to confirm. I simply sat there for more than half an hour simply looking at the phone. Racked with self-doubt, one part of me wanted to phone and the other didn't.

Eventually, I dialled her number.

I got the dial tone and my heart rate went into overdrive. After a few rings, she answered and I stumbled through saying who I was and that I phoning to confirm the session. She was so matter-of-fact I calmed down quite a bit. She gave me the pertinent details and the call ended.

That phone call was the hardest part. Afterwards it was, mostly, plain sailing. I say mostly, anticipating nerves I had a light breakfast a couple of poached eggs. Fortunately, the toilet on the train on the way down was vacant.

I got to her place with a few minutes to spare. First off, it was a simple discussion of my prior experience with Pro-Dommes - answer, zilch. Then fee handed over and down to business.

I changed into my birthday suit and she lead this completely-clueless newbie through his paces. Essentially it was a taster session, trying on the cuffs. I like the fantasy of BDSM; but do I like the reality?

An hour later I had a much better idea. I also felt rather silly about having been so nervous. My fear had essentially been the fear of the unknown. I wished I had seen a Pro-Domme much earlier. It's a shame about those two years.

That Lady really was every inch the professional; knew her stuff and did her job very well.

So what got me over my nerves? Well, I think I got fed up with running away from myself. I got tried of being a coward. So I just got on with it and I'm very glad I did.

The hardest, that is scariest, part of the whole process was that initial phone call. That was the hardest hurdle. Once cleared I found the rest much easier.

It's nice when you overcome your fears.

Congratulations on taking such a big step Anorak.  And I am sure that others who are contemplating seeing a pro-Domme will appreciate reading about your post as I am sure the un-knowing is more scary than the reality

Well I'm happy for you, but I'm not sure what all that trepidation was about. Do you watch a lot of porn, OP? Do you have social anxiety, or are you painfully shy? Do you feel ashamed of your needs and desires? Help me out, here.

Pro-dommes wouldn't get repeat business if they scared off all the newbies, or if they didn't leave their clients feeling as though they'd gotten their money's worth.

The first time I phoned a girl I liked, I was so nervous beforehand that I wrote down questions to ask just in case the conversation stalled.
I remember one of them even to this day ("do you have a dog; what's his/her name?") ...

In those days, boys barely used a phone ... it was all land-line, pre caller-id, so, the hardest part (or so I thought) was handling the initial screening by whomever (heaven forbid or Mom or Dad) picked up the phone and yelled to the house, in general "Judy, it's a boy!".

In the end, the phone call turned out to be easy, and long, and relaxed (except for the beginning heavy breathing). I ducked behind my parent's bar, covered myself with a blanket so my nosy sisters wouldn't succeed in spying on me, and, with my sheet of pregnant pause killers in hand, I called (half hoping nobody would pick up and I could then say, the next day, that I had called but nobody answered (in those days, there were no answering machines).

It is nice when you overcome your fears.

This was the point I was trying to make. My fears were essentially fears of the unknown and were unqualified and groundless, now they are gone.

With such nervousness leading up to your first meeting with a Pro Domme, I'm glad that your first experience was so positive.  I've read about people who finally get up the courage and then their session time ranges from boring to outright dangerous.  A lot of people get scared away from the lifestyle for years or worse, forever, but their desires don't go away.  Confusion builds and they don't have any way to deal with it because they are afraid.

It sounds like this will not be happening to you, however.  I'm so glad that it went well.  Best wishes on continued experiences.  One word of advice though, don't confuse the "consumer" experience of meeting a Pro Domme with the joy and reality of serving a lifestyle Domme, should be lucky enough to find one.  Serving a lifestyle Domme is more enjoyable and more rewarding in the long run, but it's not the fantasy experience that you had with your Pro.  Just something to think about.

Ha ha, just doing countless Dommes a favor by trying to explain to the OP what to expect.  You don't want him flooding in boxes with messages detailing his expectations based on Pro Sessions.

And you are so right,I cant tell you of the countless subs that come for an interviewe and still say"and this is how I like it to go" there is a BIG difference and it should be thrown out there.

LOL; I'm not that naive. There's obviously a gulf of difference between a commercial transaction and a relationship.
