you each have my deepest sympathies

having said that, I only qualify for Man U having spent time in Stretford in the late 80s, so its probably me that deserves the pity more

Manchester United fan ? ... those are the games that  are worth looking forward to ! ... without worthy rivals, the sport is nothing. (Man U are of course SECOND  ... to Rangers in terms of rivalry status)

I look forward to the next victory .... errrr .... "game" [;)]  LOL

ah, Man U are in trouble Pirate (as I'm sure you know) so your chances are far higher than ever in the recent past.

Meanwhile, I look forward to Leeds back in the Premiership in a few seasons time.

I have ... (are you sitting down ... ) in the past ... actually followed the progress of Man U
... errr ... well actually one of it's (now former) players.
Which one ? Well here ya go :

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xRXxy9EDvDg&feature=related
(which keeps us very much "on topic" ... and "possibly" rubs the Villa fans up the wrong way)

Not bad eh?  ... having over come this :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Ry3L1Ou9GM&feature=related

After that excruciating image ... I have no choice but to cheer myself up watching this work of art :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tBdxU-iINio&feature=related

Other than when Henrik Larsson M.B.E. played out of Old Trafford, I'm not truly up to speed on the Red Devils apart from in Europe.
(He's dabbling in management now ... cutting his teeth at Landskrona. Oh, for the players a man of his standing might attract if/when he fulfils his dream of a managerial return to Paradise ? ... For now ... we must resign resign ourselves to dreaming.)

Man U are in so much debt they'll be running a BOGOF League soon.

Exactly Prinsexx  - and it wont be long before the effect of that starts telling on the field as the current "experienced" team retires, and the younger are transferred to bring in cash. Barring anything significant coming along to improve fortunes or the trading of players, especially hot prospects currently under 17, being conducted successfully, I can foresee insolvency not too far down the road - which would inevitably mean a relegation every bit as shocking as what happened to Leeds Utd.

The one real hope is the world wide following. I contend that if Man U were on the brink, there would be massive donations from all over the globe to help them out.

I can think of more ethical causes. Haiti for example.

I thought that was an essential rule of the sport ?

I thought sport was supposed to bring people together. And not for a punch up.

Kind of like the old joke:  I went to a fight once and a hockey game broke out?  [sm=mrpuffy.gif]  [sm=couch.gif]

Hmmm ... not sure about the punch up idea ... kinda tame that in Auld Firm terms ! [sm=biggrin.gif]

Anyhow, since it was an Aston Villa joke ... pray tell me ... where does the "sport" come into it ? ... you know, being so seriously "off topic" can get you the "mod spank". ROFL. [;)]

Goddammit!!!....You fucks and your humor...This is the Goddam U.S. of A.

If the ball is round it ain't dribbled or hit by some sort of a golf club or a racket than it be for those dang queers.

U.S.A.!!! U.S.A.!!!
U.S.A.!!! U.S.A.!!!
U.S.A.!!! U.S.A.!!!
U.S.A.!!! U.S.A.!!!

Yeah!  Of course I think those guys running around in matching shorts call that nudging the ball back and forth while moving it around the field thing 'dribbling' .  [8|]

JonnieBoy -> RE: How does an Aston Villa fan speak to the fan stood nearest to him? (1/26/2010 6:52:10 PM)

Unbeknownst to Domiguy ... "dribbling" is a technique/skill essential to football too.

(the game that's called "football" ... because it's played ... with the feet jen [;)])

USA will, this summer ...in 135 days time ... in South Africa in the World Cup (so named because it actually DOES involve virtually every country in the world [;)]), trot out for their first game of the World Cup Finals 2010 ... against ... ENGLAND. Stop laughing you brits ... what d'ya think this is ... bloody humour or what ? after all ... remember that David chap and the Goliath dude.

I guess Domiguy is warming up ready to join in with the rest of his hopeful countrypeople in support, now, who thinks we should tell him to fetch himself a 6 pack out before the kick off ? , anyone reckon we can convince him there's 45 to 50 minutes between Ad breaks ?

SERIOUSLY (titters) there's a very real chance of the World Cup going back to America ... after all, Brazil are in it, aren't they ?

If you make it to the England v USA game Domiguy, be sure to turn up with your baseball bat ... you'll blend perfectly into the background amongst the fans ! (well ... the England fans, at least [sm=biggrin.gif])

If anyone wants any REAL World Cup humour ... try pondering that the USA had to play "host" to ... Cuba !  (warped grin)

Pirate goddammit man don't say stuff like that before I've had a chance to put on my incontinence knickers.
What's even better is the thought of Domiguy blending at Edgbaston watching the cricket.
Man alive I've got stitches.
