He's him. I'm me.

There is no one else quite like the either of us and no one else would quite fit the other the same way. Not to say, as we are poly, that others won't fit as well. Just not the same way.

You are not seriously telling me you look at "others" (what others? partners? plumbers? midgets?) to see if they look content? How do you read an expression on the face / body of somebody you don't know?

I personally couldn't care less, and would certainly applaud anyone who would think someone running around doing these comparisons has a major screw loose.

If we're at the auto parts store looking for a part to fix a car, contentment will not be writ large on either of our faces.
When we're out on a walk, we hold hands and talk. And that point we will be happy looking. But more happy than the vanilla couple also holding hands and smiling? Probably not.

Ah, okay, I misunderstood the question then.  How do we look at eachother when out?  If it's just my pet and I, then he's the most beautiful thing I could possibly see, and I would wager his reply would be the same.  What sets him apart?  Everything.  The general populous is just a general nuisance to me, and something that I generally feel the need to protect the pet from.  I don't want him to have to deal with the rabble.  Not that I tend to be overprotective or spoil him at all. ;)

I notice more what sets us apart from others.  We're very fixed on each other, it's like the rest of the world falls away and we're together there.  I don't even notice if someone sits down next to me on the train, things like that.  Much goes unspoken or whispered between us and there's a great energy that I know people catch, and sometimes smile, sometimes roll their eyes, depending on the bitterness quotient.

Ditto! his employees generally comment to Me how happy he looks! I think he just exudes happiness and contentment with his life and relationship.

I don't waste my time comparing my girls to others or even comparing to each other. I do however notice very specific things about each of them.... much of which is why I love them!
