Yep I believe it is something you slide open and closed (plural). Like a matchbox but made out of wood.

Draftsmen. People who can draw are draftsmen. Or you could say artist, or animator.

'Drawer' is not the word but cute of you for trying. Unless you meant underwear.

illustrator is probably your best bet actually.
