I did indeed see that prior to replying, but the quotes he listed and responded to were mine. But you know, it really doesn't amount to a hill of beans to even consider participating in this thread any longer. The same ole story (being insulted, etc) is becoming very tiresome!

Much as I appreciate your defense, if truth be told, that blast was leveled at MrMr.  (Didn't like that band much either.)  I wouldn't slam Hunky that way- I like him.   But MrMr is continuing to push a viewpoint that has lead us to the brink of financial abyss.  I know my business is hurting, I suspect that many here are- possibly including this MrMr.  What angers me is his denial of culpability, and his intransigence that he's done anything wrong.  At least Greenspan had the decency to man up and admit he screwed the pooch. Of course for the millions of folks out of jobs and their homes, that's small consolation.  But this guy doesn't seem to recognize that his votes (my assumption that he voted for the neocons) and his tacit support have enabled this gang of thieves to make off with our money and our livelihoods.  Then he acts innocent and hurt when I call him an idiot.  Well, what would you call somebody who hasn't realized he's been conned out of his life savings, and still thinks the con artist is a good guy?

we will need some solutions- and new ones-

the OP is obviously in the wrong neighborhood.  Hopefully we do not become one large suburb where one can not simply move to another town.

Some like strict zoning- where they tell you what colors you can paint your house and petty rules.   The others like to put couches onto the front porch next to junk cars and old appliances.

Most want to live somewhere between the 2 extremes.

globalization tho- by its design is to place those burdens on people that do not want- them.

Sure it would be nice to be able to afford- miles, biffy tennis courts and the Bentley- but many of us eat Ramon noodles and shop at thrift stores.

hopefully we have not reached a point of no return on self determination.

Status: offline 		You move into an historical district and you agree to it. You can paint any time you like, but you need approval to change the color. You make the choice to live there or somewhere else.

In younger days, and especially when I first moved here, I thought of buying this entire neighborhood. Unfortunately that did not work out. Damn houses simply were not for sale. Now they are and I don't have the money. Sonofabitch.
