WARNING/DISCLAIMER: DO NOT try to do this if you are or may be allergic to latex. Check first and make sure you won't have any negative reactions to it, and make sure that before you start you have access to a full shower with lots of soap and a TON of time. A weekend is best to do this project.
Attractive and well-fitting catsuits made of latex and rubber can cost around $300 dollars or more, especially custom ones, which sucks horribly for all of us who don't have thousands of dollars to throw away on toys and fetishwear. Thanks to the internet, I've stumbled across a way to make your own catsuits, custom to whatever you want them to look like, for about $120 dollars and a few hours of you and a partner's time. :3
First, purchase a form-fitting spandex bodysuit like the one here. These are nice and thin. You want something VERY breathable, almost flimsy, but nice and tight to do this.
Next, go on pretty much any latex/fetish site and purchase a few tubs of liquid latex. This is pretty inexpensive; mostly it'll be about 30 bucks. I'm not sure exactly how much you'll want, but you'll probably want around two gallons of it just in case. You can use whatever colors you want. :3 Most of these shops also carry tubes or bottles of latex shine, and you'll want a bottle or two of this stuff as well.
I also suggest going to the local Home Depot or whatever other big hardware store you have nearby and buying a package of those foam brushes for painting. They're like five dollars for a pack of five, and they're perfect for this. Buy enough so you'll have a different brush for each color you'll want to use, obviously.
Once you have everything together, find a tight-fitting (VERY tight fitting) bra and pair of panties (a thong would actually probably work best for this) that you don't mind ruining. Nothing fancy! NO lace, no buckles or ribbons...just plain white cotton. For guys, you can just use a plain tank-style undershirt, but wear briefs instead of a thong. For both sexes, shave THOROUGHLY - everywhere, even if you don't normally shave your legs or whatever - or wear a pair of opaque tights. Yes, this is necessary; anybody who's ever gotten their legs, bikini, or eyebrows waxed knows you don't wanna do this on a large scale, and definitely not with latex. I suggest shaving, since this process can get rather warm, and sweat is uncomfortable. But it's completely up to you (or your Dom/me).
Once you have everything together, get your partner/friend/whatever in there and make sure he or she is prepared to stay and work with you for at least four hours. This is a long procedure, yeah, but it's a lot of fun. Don your disposable clothes, then slip the spandex suit over it and try to make sure it's as smooth and comfortable as possible. (Go to the bathroom before you do this; it'll save you a lot of effort in the end. :P ) You can use a ballpoint pen if you want to sketch out the designs of the colors on the bodysuit itself before your partner starts with the actual painting.
Do one color at a time. Don't let the suit touch itself anywhere; in close corners like the insides of elbows and whatnot, you should keep your arms completely extended and hold onto a bar or something while those coats are drying. I also suggest doing the crotch last, and lying down with the legs spread to do so. It's more fun that way anyhow. ;) You want to do thin, even layers and let them dry between each layer. By the time you're done, you'll have done probably four or five layers to make the latex thick and strong; the liquid latex itself sinks into the fibers of the suit and forms around that, which strengthens it and gives it form and a steady base, so it shouldn't flake off or lose its shape. I've heard you can use a hairdryer to speed up the dry time, but I would hesitate to try it. It doesn't take that long, anyways.
Once you have the color and thickness you want, wait for the suit to be totally dry. Cover it in a coat of the shine and let that dry, and then carefully slip out of it. Yes, you'll be peeling the latex off your skin, so again, if you're allergic, don't try this at all. (The disposable clothing is to protect sensitive areas from being screwed up by the latex. I dunno if that's obnoxiously cautious of me or not, but I'm willing to err on the side of caution.) If you don't use the shine first, the latex will stick to itself and mess up your whole suit. You'll wanna use a few coats of the shine while you perfect the suit, and keep a fresh coat on it for as long as you want to keep it.
Congratulations, you just made your own custom latex catsuit. :) As long as you treat them carefully and keep them shined and stored in a dry, cool place, the suits should have a fairly long life and be easy to touch up with a new coat of liquid latex here and there, though if you go too thick the whole thing will just look weird and not hold up very well. I don't recommend wearing them in hot places, in sunlight, or during sex, as the heat will screw up the latex. Overall though, they tend to be great for play parties, fetish events, and the like.
