Believing that any one group is innately superior to others is bigotry. Whether a black saying death to all whities, which I saw in a profile this week. Or Nazis hating Jews and Romany. Or heterosexuals saying homosexuals can't really love and commit and voting down gay marriage. Bigots are disgusting. Oh, and spiders are too.

We know at least one couple in every dynamic pairing possible. As long as it is consensual and the result is a positive in their life, We don't have a problem. But then, We don't hate men, either.

When We co-founded a group for Dominant women, We often ran into the attitude as well. Being that We had been active around in Our community, We didn't find many instances where the attitude was justified. Online, however, was (and is) a different story; Male dominants being assholes is a much more regular phenomena here... but then so is the converse.

I'm a switch, but for several years, I wasn't willing to consider submitting, or being with a Dominant man, although I did date a couple of top/sadist guys. I knew some Dominants who were respectful and didn't claim that all women were automatically submissive, but I had a few run-ins with jerks like Domiguy that left me not wishing to be in a relationship with any guy who used that label. I didn't have any problem with male dominants and female submissives being in relationships with each other, I just didn't want a life of being taken all the time without any foreplay and having my limits, soft or hard "pushed" all the time. [:'(] Even the ones who seemed like good guys and were in happy relationships seemed to feel those two aspects were very important to them, so I was certain I couldn't be happy with any guy who considered himself a dominant. Neither my previous Dominant nor my Master have those attitudes.

We have a regular orgy going here, huh?  <3

And just as another subpoint of this whole conversation, in Baltimore alone, the majority of the D/s communities and groups around here are either strictly Femdom or strictly homosexual.  This really bugs me, because the majority of the groups are the gay leather community and women can't join, and the Femdom groups spurn my Lord and I for obvious reasons.  Is this a statistical anomaly or are most public BDSM groups oriented like this?  :/

i have lived all over the U.S., and my experience has been that it varies by location.  In my current city, the local BDSM group is probably 90% male Dom/female sub.  It is very difficult to find female Dommes here.  In my previous city, the opposite was true.  The organization was made up primarily of Dommes, and most play parties basically consisted of female Dommes being served by an army of male subs.
