Anything that isn't self-serving. I get tired of the selfish submissives. I.E. Here's a whip I got for you, now use it on me!

I got rid of that problem a long time ago. I stopped dating guys like that ;-)

I got her a rose flogger because that is what she kept saying she wanted. The fact that she used it on me was just an added bonus. Maybe I should have told her that she only thought that was what she wanted and gotten her something else?

Sweet J - are you kidding?

I'd be worried that the kitten or puppy had piddled on my chocolates.

that or they ate them all. It would really suck if the first thing I ever did with my new puppy was to kick it's little chocolate stealing butt.

If a puppy ate an entire basket full of chocolates, then it would probably drop dead from the chocolate. That would be an even worse Valentine's gift..."As a token of my love for you, here's a dead puppy."

Besides, my cat has already eaten every rose that I've been given in the past 6 years. Personally, I'll settle for a nice chat with my husband, over the phone; since, he just moved 8 hours away for a new job.

But before dying, it would have had a really severe case of diarrhoea over those roses.  Mmmh!

The thing to remember is that Dommes are just girls underneath it all. All the same rules apply. The ultimate gift?

A kitten/puppy in a basket full of roses and chocolates with a diamond studded collar.

It doesn't fail. Ever.

ugh .. gag.. sorry it would fail miserably with me... HUGELY ... and your characterization of "just girls"? .... ugh gag there too

Thank god you said that, Madam4a.  For me, the only reasonable reaction from a woman to whom I'd presented a puppy in a basket surrounded by roses would be a belly full of vomit over my jacket.

If you mean a *living breathing* puppy or kitten it's a horrible idea.  Puppies and kittens are not ACCESSORIES.  You are presenting someone with a lifelong commitment to the health and well being of the animal.  Especially with dogs, deciding on an appropriate breed is clearly a careful decision.  Also, adopting a shelter dog that might not be a "puppy" is preferable than a random pet shop "oh how cute" decision.

And if you were unaware, puppies ingesting chocolate, even in small amounts, can result in death.

I came home this morning to a present on my computer desk. I don't know if it's from Holly or rob, since both of them are still asleep, but I am so happy right now. It probably cost less than $5 total - it's a Valentine's cup, with random suckers/candies in it ... just sitting out for me on my desk

Sad that you have to point this out Akasha, but oh so true.

However, with meticulous planning and organisation, and close attention to detail (possibly involving the advice and assistance of a veterinarian or a professional animal welfare expert of some kind), I would imagine that it might just be possible to arrange a puppy in a basket with chocolates, for a brief and controlled period, without it actually eating any chocolates.

But then what do you do with the puppy? Was it clear that she actually wanted a puppy? Who's going to take care of the puppy for the next 10-15 years or more? Who's going to walk it, groom it?

I mean I love dogs, all animals really. I have a big loveable tom cat that's been hanging out with me for 13yrs+ (who btw has puppies as a hard limit). But an animal is a responsability. If a guy gave me a puppy without checking with me first, I think that would be the end of our relationship. I would see him as someone impulsive who doesn't think things through.

I really might not mind this part of it though... "chocolates with a diamond studded collar. " ... I think each piece of chocolate's diamon studded collar would make a wonderful ring for my finger.... fingers... oh and toes..

I'm hoping for something sexy and romantic this year, but I'd settle for a new slave wrapped in a red ribbon.

I'm with you. I'd love a nude male slave wrapped in a red ribbon myself!
