Hi, I know all about how the hole goes back to normal except if a person goes way overboard; but....... I have a nice butt plug (widest = 1 1/2 narrow 3/4) that I've used a couple times a week for 15-30 minutes, mostly kept in with some in-out. Is it just my imagination but when I touch that area when showering or whatever it just feels different and more open even days later. I was going to ask a doctor this same question at my next check-up but I could dig the instant gratification of an answer here from some wise person.

It's not a silly question. The muscles of the anal sphincter are like any other muscle in the body. Do enough stretching and eventually the muscle stays stretched. Think stretching before running or biking. If you stop stretching for a while - a week or two - the muscle will contract back to where it was. Give your ass a rest for week or two and see what happens. I doubt you've done any permanent damage.

Also, when you desensitize the area for "in" versus "out", you are able to relax more quickly and perhaps are just responding to the tactile feel? It's like putting in a contact lens. The first time it was really difficult to stick your finger in your eye. Then you became an old pro at it and can pop it in without even thinking. *Wash your hands first though. [;)]
