So, why are liberals so condescending?

Racists Crying Racism

Even before President Obama named Sonia Sotomayor to replace David Souter on the Supreme Court, we knew that the rightwing noise machine would come after whoever was nominated. But what we didn't know was how much of an advantage they would have with the nomination of Sotomayor, because with their planned line of attack against her, they finally had an issue that they were intimately familiar with; racism. And who better than Pat Buchanan and Tom Tancredo to speak with authority about that?

But with their emergence as vocal critics of Sotomayor, almost lost among their shouts of racism, quotas and affirmative action, was their own Marcus Epstein. Almost. Who is he?

Epstein is the protege of Pat Buchanan and Tom Tancredo, serving as the executive director for both of their virulent anti-immigration groups. He's a "frequent contributor of racist essays to the white nationalist hate website VDARE.com," named for Virginia Dare, "the first white baby born in the English colonies." Subtle, eh? And here's Epstein's take on the proper degree of diversity in our country:

Tea Party Speaker Tancredo Suggests Return To Literacy Tests

Former California representative Tom Tancredo urged a return to voter literacy tests on the opening night of the Tea Party convention. Such tests were used in the past to prevent African-Americans and in some cases, Latinos, from voting, prior to Johnson-era civil rights laws.

Tancredo said that President Barack Obama

was elected because "we do not have a civics, literacy test before people can vote in this country." He went further and blaster his own party's John McCain, saying "Thank God John McCain lost the election. This is our country. Let's take it back."

Tom Tancredo: Obama Elected Because 'We Do Not Have A Civics, Literacy Test' To Vote

Former Congressman and 2008 Republican presidential candidate Tom Tancredo told an audience on Thursday at the Tea Party Convention in Nashville that "people who could not even spell the word 'vote', or say it in English, put a committed socialist ideologue in the White House."

"His name," Tancredo said, "is Barack Hussein Obama."
Tancredo delivered the opening keynote speech at the convention where several hundred Tea Party conservatives have gathered.

"So the race for America is on right now. The president and his left-wing allies in Congress are going to look at every opportunity to destroy the Constitution before we have a chance to save it," Tancredo told the delegates. "So put your running shoes on. Because I'll tell you, I've heard we need a revolution. My friends, we already had it. We lost. I mean, what happened to us in that last election was a revolution."

‘Birther’ Movement Rears Head in Nashville

The so-called "birther" movement apparently is alive and well at the National Tea Party Convention in Nashville.

While the bulk of the three-day affair has been spent on strategizing for the 2010 elections and figuring out how to grow the conservative activist base, convention-goers shifted their attention from tax-and-spending complaints to President Obama's citizenship during a rousing speech after dinner Friday night by WorldNetDaily.com founder Joseph Farah.

Farah, a conservative newsman whose raison d'etre of late has been to challenge Obama's eligibility to be president, used the bulk of his remarks to hit that point -- and got quite a welcome reception from the hundreds of tea partiers in the room.

"Where's the birth certificate?" he asked, echoing the words from a controversial billboard campaign he started. "It's a simple question and it has not been answered."

Liberals are not condescending; conservatives are the ones who think they are superior. I found The Heretics thread insulting and “the pot calling the kettle black.”

Hmmm so where is the liberal press???? It never existed..it's math pure and simple

who own most corporations - free speech= SC ruling, if there where a true TEA PARTY  this is what they would be fighting, but not when a certain billionaire pays there bills

ahhh free speech on the networks is bought and paid for, no matter what we do

So technically it's expensive speech, rather than free speech.

Have you ever given any thought to that old saying you just used and what it really means?

Brain -> RE: So, why are liberals so condescending? (2/7/2010 12:46:24 PM)

I really don't know what your getting at unless the pot is calling Obama black, which he is. So what is the old saying doing here,
what does it really mean? Conservatives are still the condescending ones IMO.

Pat Robertson/Buchanen, Coulter don't think they are superior? Yeah right.
