TimrehIX -> Anal Fissure (2/6/2010 10:30:56 PM)

About a month ago, after some anal play (few days later) I started to bleed when I went to the bathroom. The first time it was a good amount of blood but after that first incident it pretty much went away. But occasionally when I go to the bathroom I will feel some pain and there will be a little blood. These episodes are roughly a week or two apart and I think I am bleeding less each time.

I am willing to go to a doctor if I have to but if this is something that will heal on its own I would love to avoid the embarrassment and expense. Has anyone had some experience with this? I love anal sex and would like to know how long until I can get back on that horse.

LafayetteLady -> RE: Anal Fissure (2/7/2010 1:21:23 AM)

I'm not sure what you mean by "a good amount of blood." I will say that if you are still experiencing this a month after you had anal sex, a trip to the doctor is in order. Yes, it will likely be embarassing. You could attempt to avoid telling them what you believe caused it, and it could be something else that just happened to happen at the same time. It could be a fissure, it could be hemmoroids.

You don't say whether or not this was your first anal sex experience or not, but really a month later and you are still feeling some pain? Not normal. I mean unless someone was really banging the hell out of your ass, the pain and blood should have stopped a long time ago. I'm a bit of a anal queen myself and have enjoyed some "rougher" experiences that left me (blissfully) a bit sore for a few days after, maybe even a week. But a month?

Get yourself to a doctor post haste, and that doctor would be a proctologist or colorectal surgeon (same thing), not a GP. When you make the appointment, you don't need to put yourself through the embarrassment of telling the receptionist, "look I got fucked in the ass about a month ago and I'm still experiencing some pain and bleeding." Just tell them that you have having painful bowel movements with some bleeding. Deal with the details when you speak with the doctor. I recently had to visit the "butt doctor" for other reasons, so I understand how you are feeling about it. Apparently, proctologists realize that in their field a sense of humor is kind of mandatory, at least that's what mine said, lol.

But really make the appointment and go to the doctor. Good luck and I hope everything is ok.

After the birth of my son I had an anal fissure. It was one of the most painful ailments I have ever had. It took months to heal and I had to take fiber to insure I would not become constipated and make it worse. I also took sitz baths a couple of times a day to relax the tissue, reduce swelling, and to prevent infection...

If that is what you have going on take care of it... I couldn't even sleep comfortably for the pain... I would moan all night long...

This experience is also why I am very careful with informing my partners about my limitations with anal sex, because while I enjoy it I also take a lot of prep to get me ready for it.. partially because I fear getting another fissure... lots of lube, foreplay, and warming of the tissue prevent this sort of thing in healthy people.

ShaharThorne -> RE: Anal Fissure (2/7/2010 12:36:19 PM)

I am seeing the doctor later this week because of the fissure I developed when I had a hemorrhoid to pop out.  Every time that I had a bm, especially if I have impaction, would bleed.  What got me was the blood on my nightgown.  Showed it to mom (she's a nurse) and she realized that I did indeed have a problem.

Sitz baths are recommended, upping the fiber in your diet and taking a stool softener is the best way to combat the fissure.  The doctor might want to do a cauterization if necessary.

thishereboi -> RE: Anal Fissure (2/7/2010 12:38:54 PM)

Go to a doctor. Blood and pain are signs that something is wrong and only a dr will be able to tell you what it is. You should also be honest with him and he can tell you when it will be safe to have sex again.

Huntertn -> RE: Anal Fissure (2/7/2010 1:40:57 PM)

My sub had that. she required surgery twice to correct her's so yes GET TO A DOCTOR.

KatyLied -> RE: Anal Fissure (2/7/2010 2:34:37 PM)

Rectal bleeding is a serious symptom.  It may be nothing more than a bleeding hemorroid or it could be a sign of something seriously wrong.  Go to the doc and offer up full disclosure.

DesFIP -> RE: Anal Fissure (2/7/2010 4:35:59 PM)

I've had them heal on their own. If it's getting less, then give it a couple of weeks, lots of soluble fiber, sitz baths and see what happens.

If it's no better after a month then a visit to the colonorectal surgeon is in order.

GotSteel -> RE: Anal Fissure (2/7/2010 8:49:59 PM)

Your sexual orientation isn't something you should be embarrassed about, it's the sort of thing you should let your doctor know about as part of giving them a complete history even if this clears up on it's own.

LeBlueDude -> RE: Anal Fissure (2/7/2010 8:54:36 PM)

You know, I've had those symptoms without the anal sex and it turned out to be a hemeroid.

Since then I've started eating more fibre, and it hasn't happened again.

kushiels -> RE: Anal Fissure (2/9/2010 7:29:59 PM)

Yeah, those symptoms could be a hemroid (which I'm too lazy to figure out how to spell).  Going to the md is the smartest thing, but if you really dont' want to (or really can't afford it) you might be able to get away with upping your fiber (and probably water) intake to make sure you aren't constipated at all.  Apparently, if you drink enough water, you should have 1 bowel movement a day.  Less than that is supposed to mean you are dehydrated (unless you're one of those few who drinks the necessary amt of water each day!).

Zechriel -> RE: Anal Fissure (2/20/2010 5:35:39 AM)

Good morning,
Remember the skin there is not like the skin anywhere else on your body, it is much much thinner. I was irregular for years, like over 12 years and constantly bleed a bit. Seems just the acids or force of anything makes you tear. It sure is scary huh? Anyways, I went to the doctor this year, made sure all was well and then added clear fiber powder to my drinks. A teaspoon three times a day bulked me up and now i am regular AND the bleeding has stopped. As for healing, it usually takes about 2-4 weeks for a fissure to heal-if left alone, not played with.

The twice or so I was forced into anal with my first Master, I bled alot due to not enough lube, are you using enough? And is it thick enough to coat? If it is too thin, it might wear down and cause friction where you get-ta DA!! a fissure. Hope that helps, I know talking to your doctor may be hard but just to make sure all is well, might be worth it. Good luck!
Love,
Zechriel [sm=couple.gif]

Listen to the good advise here. Go to the doctor. It's usualy something simple and not dangerous but on the off chance it is serious waiting will only make it worse.

bubba28752 -> RE: Anal Fissure (2/21/2010 9:04:32 AM)

Just curious what kind of lube works the best, and what type of foreplay makes anal more pleasurable for both?I`m wanting to perform tongueing on my g/f,before and after.[:)]

stoshbig -> RE: Anal Fissure (2/22/2010 7:19:51 AM)

All of the above and I concur. Did you pick up on the importance of fiber? In your case, very important so eat your vegetables. And what you are embarrassed about wouldn't even raise an eyebrow, wouldn't show up on a doctor or nurse's radar. And give it 4-6 wks. and if it does not get better or if it gets worse for 1 week steadily see a doctor asap. That part of the body has a unique, robust immune response and should heal quickly if you keep things moving through regularly, really! That is the key and make sure no more bleeding.
1 last point. When you go to the doctor and tell him, it hurts when I to this, the doctor will say, don't do that. $50 Sometimes that's every appointment all day.
That's 1 last point with 2 parts. You're over 50 so it's time for colorectal cancer screening. That can be done at home by yourself with a kit where you put a sample of stool a vial with a q-tip into a bag, in mailer card and send it in for testing. It's simple. We sample stool every day of patients (nurses). My doctor just gave me the kit. I'd be happy to send mine to you. I'm no more enthused about it than you are. You can find a free screening day or kits once in awhile where you live. Also, http://www.freecolonscreening.com/

To OP: There is good advice in the thread. See a doctor, eat plenty of fiber, drink water.

But, laughter being the best medicine, i offer the following:

At least 20 years ago i followed a series of usenet posts about a fellow aflicted with this condition. No thread with the title Anal Fissure could be complete without a reference to one man's struggle with his "cruel master" and efforts to "appease the evil God." These are the chronicles of Bob the Anal Fissure.

http://www.anus.com/etc/anal-fissure-bob/#anal-fissure-bob

An exerpt:

At first Bob wasn't so bad. Occasional itch and discomfort. Nothing that I couldn't handle. A mint flavored suppository now and again seemed to do the trick.

But then about a year ago my cruel master Bob began requiring more and more from me. Itching on a scale that can only be desribed as "hellish" was the order of the day. I had a permanent brown stain on my index finger from trying to scratch the inside of my colon through my troubled anus.

I had lost all sense of decorum. I no longer cared what people thought. I often walk around in public with my hand down my pants, finger firmly implanted, trying to appease the evil God Bob.

In my spare time I would daydream about modifying various farm impliments to deal with the overwhelming itch. I even went so far as to order a tined hand trowel.

Be well.

stoshbig -> RE: Anal Fissure (2/23/2010 7:17:48 AM)

I forgot. You can treat the itch by sitting in hot water, as hot as you can stand it. Don't burn the skin off your sac, but hot.

takemeforyourown -> RE: Anal Fissure (3/6/2010 2:19:14 AM)

I had one of these bastards once. I figured I was dying of cancer (nurses assume the worst). My doc prescribed viscous lidocaine to put on it to numb me up before I pooped, or if it was hurting. It helped a lot.

Maybe it was the horse that made you bleed in the first place?  Stay away from horses, go see a doctor.  If the blood that comes out of your ass on regular intervals has you concerned enough to ask a bunch of strangers on a forum, perhaps your health questions and care should be in a doctor's hands?

I get a little nose bleed now and then... annually, not weekly.  I have never gone to the doctor for it.  If my nose kept bleeding, at regular intervals, I would get concerned.

DerangedUnit -> RE: Anal Fissure (3/6/2010 3:44:27 AM)

i've been bleeding daily for 2-3 years im not dead yet but i don't go sticking things up my ass if at all avoidable... i suggest finding a new hobby unless you want to have a colonoscopy bag strapped to your leg in a couple years. doctors don't do anything unless you have a growth to remove then you have surgery to go though if you're bleeding internally then its a restricted diet.
