Do you find that to be true, more so than a male dominant or do you think they nurture just as much. Do you ever feel yourself just automatically being motherly towards who you are with? Or does that not factor in at all. Thanks!

"They" are almost always wrong.

Broad, sweeping generalizations are stupid.

I find my male dominant to be very nurturing.

I sincerely think it is a question of personality.

Motherly, no. Loving and caring, yes.

Whenever "They" say anything, I tend to realize "They" are speaking in generalities and not absolutes.

I have met some very nurturing men and some terribly self-focused women. Not all women are born with a maternal instinct.

If I have to 'mother' my mate, I wouldn't have any romantic interests in him. Now, when he needs a shoulder to lean on, I have no problem being supportive and caring. Nurturing doesn't always equate to mothering.

Are all broad, sweeping generalisations stupid, or just most of them?  Just wondered.

AngelofAgony -> RE: They have said that women are more nurturing (2/7/2010 2:56:34 PM)

I tend to be a very caring and nurturing type of person in all aspects of my life.  I have a very strong mothering sense towards my children and even their good friends. I do not have a mothering sense towards my partner.  I care for him, love him deeply and nurture him.  I also tend to be a cruel, sadistic bitch when we're playing but that's because I deeply care for him and we feed off the energy this provides.  Am I more caring and nurturing than all dominant males?  No ... but I'm probably more caring and nurturing than most.

How about most or many of them?  haha

I don't believe at all that it's a XX-defined trait... I have known many XY men who have been more nurturing than I -to include my spouse.

I think it is in general true, but certainly not an absolute.  My Mistress will tell you that when it come to children I am more nurturing than most women she knows.  Before coming to her I had spent the previous 15 years raising other people's children.
