The other really interesting thing about this, is that if someone were actually THAT happy, would they need to constantly tell everyone about it?

What I find more telling is her total inability to tell anybody about the inner working of it.  Everyone knows that keeping a relationship alive and healthy takes a tremendous amount of work.  No matter someone's intelligence of level of education, if that person has had a successful marriage for 30 years, that person has some good advice to share with others, about how to handle adversity, how to celebrate with your loved one, how to handle things when the shit hits the fan.  ForeverOwned has no nitty gritty to her "past."  It's all imagined Kodak Moments, and  Hallmark Hall of Fame.

juliaoceania -> RE: What do you feel is the postive things that being a submissive has brought you? (2/8/2010 4:50:55 PM)

To be fair, I know a lot of people that cannot articulate what they had for breakfast, much less what went into making their marriage work... but those people do not usually contribute to message boards either

ForeverOwned -> RE: What do you feel is the postive things that being a submissive has brought you? (2/8/2010 5:17:45 PM)

For those of you who continue to come on here day after day year after year and try to ridicule anyone who is happy. i just have this to say: At the end of the day when all is said and done. i can turn off my computer and go into the arms of a man who loves me and look into my children's eyes and know i am blessed.
i don't have the need to try to hurt others, because they have something i don't. i am happy for them, and i love it when people post their happiness. i encourage it.

So, nothing you can say can hurt me. If people are so miserable that they have to try and make others hurt the way they do, then they should be pittied, not hated. Yes, in the past i have gotten mad, but no more. for i see what is really behind it all and it's a shame.

Others see it too, that;s why so few people are supporting the nasty posters anymore and more and more nice people are not tolerating it anymore.

juliaoceania -> RE: What do you feel is the postive things that being a submissive has brought you? (2/8/2010 5:19:27 PM)

You know, I have contributed several thoughtful replies to this thread and you have not answered but one of them... Maybe the rest of them are right?

sunshinemiss -> RE: What do you feel is the postive things that being a submissive has brought you? (2/8/2010 5:22:00 PM)

Being submissive saved my life on more than one occasion. Hiding when people were out to beat me. Not confronting abusive people. Letting go of the need to be right rather than the need to stay alive.

On the other hand wiitwd... wellllll that's just yummy.

ForeverOwned -> RE: What do you feel is the postive things that being a submissive has brought you? (2/8/2010 5:29:04 PM)

i thought i answered all of them. Which ones did i miss?

Jeffff -> RE: What do you feel is the positive things that being a submissive has brought you? (2/8/2010 5:29:54 PM)

I have never seen anyone ridiculed for being happy..... ever. I have seen people ridiculed for posting silly thoughtless things.

AIleen is so fucking happy it makes my skin crawl....:) No one deserves it more. I wish we all as happy.

I have been mocked in the past. It caused me to rethink what I was saying, or trying to say. Sometimes I changed my mind about things and sometimes I thought, "Fuck em"

When any poster continues to post meaningless, vapid, thoughtless threads, yes they get mocked. The nature of something like this is give and take (not counting the politics section)

You have posted here before under a different name. You gave nothing then and it seems you took nothing either.

Nothing has changed.

ForeverOwned -> RE: What do you feel is the postive things that being a submissive has brought you? (2/8/2010 5:32:11 PM)

Then perhaps you can answer your own thread... what positive things has being "submissive" brought you?

This question i don't understand, because i said it all in my op.

FO, thats great about the hubby and kids and all that. I'm truly happy for you.

But if nothing can hurt you, why do you get so defensive when somebody asks you to put some meat on the bones of your story?

You seem to start a lot of threads that should have Fabian on the cover of them.

You are the anti osf.

That's fine if that's how you view WIITWD, but you should realise that a lot of people find that to be romanticised nonsense.

You should dismiss these people no less than they dismiss you. It's not nastiness, it's just a request for substance beyond the book cover.

This isn't BDSM-Lite we practice. A lot of blood, sweat and tears get spilled in the name of the things we love.
Don't make it about a question you never got the right answers to.

It's always always ALWAYS much more than that.

I suppose I am not satisfied with your answers because they are extraordinarily vague to the point that they are non-answers...

This question i don't understand, because i said it all in my op.

You said nothing in your OP.  That is the point.

What does your man smell like when the two of you argue?  How long does it take to make up?  What is your favorite way of doing that?  How have you gotten your points across to him from a submissive perspective?  What advice do you have for a new couple just starting out?

Anyone with real-life experience could answer such questions.  You are typing from desires in your mind, so you have no answers for any of that.

You are fooling no one.  Please stop trying.  You will be happier if you start telling the truth.

i would write something, but i'm laughing too hard. Gotta go. We are getting ready to play scrabble.

Wow... all I can say is wow...

I have several family members that were married 20 plus years and they would never laugh off the challenges they faced together... In fact the pride at getting through the hard times and the willingness to share how they did it are the hallmarks of those I know who have achieved multiple decades of marital bliss...

They certainly wouldn't laugh at someone asking them about it....

i romanticize it because that's the type of relationship i have and have always had. We met as teenagers and have built a life that suits us.

i fell in love with him the minute our eyes met and i am still in love with him. He works hard to make me happy and we work hard together to give each other what each of us needs. We've seen some very hard times, but we made it through and now it's our time to just enjoy and live life the best that we know how.

Well if you have been with him so long and have so much experience why do you keep asking us to define everything for you????[sm=dunno.gif]

Jeffff -> RE: What do you feel is the postive things that being a submissive has brought you? (2/8/2010 5:52:50 PM)

Of course......

I wish you well

People are giving you the straight up truth and you are getting so upset and angry.

Do you know why buttercup? Because you are living in a fantasy and you are so bored, you post to get validation on your empty life. Do you know why you ask so many questions? Because you are outside looking in. You read about all the people here who experience first hand passion and pain and intensity and gaining and sharing knowledge and since you have nothing of value or interest to contribute, you use the boards and the answers you receive like a teenage girl reading Cosmo asking What Makes Boys Hot.

You keep saying everyone who comments on your posts is miserable? On the contrary, I bet every single person here who has commented and been nauseated by your vapid threads has lived, loved and lost more than you could ever even conjure up.

You, my dear, are worse than vanilla.

You are a cipher.

Or maybe they're brother/sister? I think you're on to something . . .

stella41b -> RE: What do you feel is the postive things that being a submissive has brought you? (2/8/2010 6:48:35 PM)

I can't answer the question because being submissive is a part of who I am, it's an integral part of the whole, and you will never appreciate that submissive part of me until you appreciate the whole of me.
