don't ever say this if you meet a sub. it's a bad idea. when a sub wants to meet in a public place it's for their safety. they will just blow up at you and make you feel even more insecure then your sorry ass already was. Umm... Well... welcome to the boards since it's your fourth post. Just FYI: Posting people's messages to you is a no-no and the mods get fussy about it. Sorry you had to deal with someone who was a dick but they exist in all walks of life. Delete and move on to the awesome ones. [:)]

Colby, I wouldn't have agreed to meet anyone off of chat or emails alone. Phone calls are a must for me. However, I don't see anything wrong with meeting at a public dungeon or a munch that the domme (i.e., the WOMAN) decides. Women risk more in meetings than men do, even if they are dommes. In fact, I have always told women we can meet wherever they want, they can dress however they feel safest, and they are welcome to bring as many friends as they want with them. No one has ever taken me up on the "friends" thing, though a couple ladies set safe calls. In fact, more often that not, they turn around and ask me to decide what restaurant we will meet at, and/or they ask me how I would like them to dress. It's not a big deal to meet someone at a public dungeon. It doesn't mean you'll be flayed alive and gangraped. It means you'll meet the domme at a place she feels comfortable and safe. Being accomodating -- and not-creepy -- goes a long way.

It sounds like this person is confusing being Dominant with being aggressive and overbearing. You didnt mention it but the Dom/me sounds like a newbie puffing up their chest and putting on a show of what they think Dominance is so you'll buy it. If a Dom/me is being cavalier about your personal safety it says all kinds of bad things about them personally. I wouldn't trust that type of person to respect my safeword or limits.

i hate to say it but it is not so true about women being safer, maybe as a generality but not always. I have been raped by a woman and i did not feel safe. Public dungeons are great, but she wouldn't go to one that i chose, where i have friends. I wouldn't, shouldn't, go to one where i don't feel safe. Anyhow, the post was a lil less than sophisticated and didn't show my best side but I was very offended at the time and needed to vent. I'm still offended. Anyhow....
