Flat versus Rolled Collars (Full Version)

My lord has decided it's finally time to collar me.  EEEE <3

However, we dunno which style to get; a flat band or a rolled one (Turian style).  What have your esperiences been and what would you all suggest for me?  I'm a fairly slim and my neck's pretty delicate as necks go, around 17 inches (including a little room for comfort). 

Opinions?  <3

Congratulations!

I've always preferred flat collars but it is just preference. My boys find them more comfortable.

Maybe something flat but narrow?

Have you considered chain?

Thanks :)  And yes, we have, but my Lord wants something more solid and close-fitting.

I prefer flat myself too, and since your neck isn't used to wearing a collar full time (I'm guessing) You may want to go with something slim to lessen the possible irritation in the bending/tilting motion areas until your skin gets used to it.

But be warned, I've learned from our experiences with making these things, that different leathers and materials can actually create a rough wear on the inside until they're broken in. So make sure it's either covered with a soft liner, or is smooth to start with. Last thing you want is to hate wearing your new collar because it makes your neck feel raw.
