As the first face I ever met from Collarchat forums, Sunshinemiss came into my life in real life for the first time in may of 2008. We had become fast friends through forums and Yahoo chat when she was in Korea. I was happy to be the first she ever met from here.

She was a joy and was our sunshine pixie then and now. She instantaneously developed a special friendship with my son that warms my heart and makes him feel special.

She has people smiling where ever she goes. She is heartwarming and attainable. From the restaurant owners to the dress shop clerks to the people walking down the street.

So this time we picked her up at the airport, drove through many parts of Chicago and ended up on a strip thats quite international. We were in the Indian area of that strip amongst the sounds and smells of India.We ate a delicious Indian Buffet and then perused the Sari Places looking at the textiles and silks.

We then drove to my fathers and rested there til we had to drop her back at the Airport for her to go back to Korea.

And it seemed only fitting that I as the one who greeted her was the one to send her off back to the place in which she came from before.

I am saddened that I do not know when I will see her again. But happy that she appears very happy and "in Love". She will of course continue to delight us here and my skype will be busy.

And I thank her for more beautiful memories and the joy that she brings to me and others.

Yeah, I do too. I hope to meet her someday as well.

i first became aware of sunshine while she was still in Korea and wrote to her several times.  i enjoyed the photo essays she put on YouTube.
 
i really must get skype on my computer!

A well kept secret is that I have met Sunny in person....she is as delightful and wonderful in person as she is through her well crafted words. She was a bit lost at the time and I offered her an escape for a few days and I was lucky enough for her to take me up on my offer. I found a friend that is as genuine and warm a person as I had ever met...Neither she nor I have ever spoken of the few days we spent together although she wrote the nicest of tribute to those few days in her blog. Out of respect for my privacy she never once mentioned me in public and I hope that I am not speaking out of school and that she will forgive me for posting this but, as we say goodbye for awhile I'd like for all to know who it is we are missing. When the time comes that sunny reads this I hope she knows she has a friend for life....I know I do...

I'm not looking at her future in Korea as goodbye... but until next time we meet.

Sounds like she's made some wonderful friends here. I don't know her except from her posts but it seems like she's been a blessing to you guys and that's great. It IS nice to hear the positive for a change[:)]. Thanks for sharing...........luci

Just got an e-mail that she has made it to Seoul. She must be at her hotel. She starts teaching on tuesday which I think is tommorrow for Korea.

Sunny is one of those angels on earth, I believe.  I am glad to have gotten to know her, glad she was at my wedding, and I look forward to seeing her again...

Wow........this makes my day!!!!! I agree with Seven...it puts a smile on my face, warms my heart , and proves that some here are more than twue, they are awesome to the nth degree!!!

I haven't got to meet Sunny yet but she and I are hoping to meet at some colourful city (Marakesh sounds nice) and no doubt we will each be carrying a well thumbed book in our bags.

she has brought light, laughter and lots of happiness to people on the boards through her joyful posts

Hey! I just found this thread, too!

What can I say about my friend? I knew I liked her when I read her stuff here, but when we met for the first time- WOW! Intelligence, humor, insight, wisdom, kindness, and warmth all rolled up into the most amazing bundle of positive energy I have ever met! I loved her instantly. I still do. And so does Sir.

She has listened to me cry and helped me celebrate my victories. She has made me look at things within myself I didn't want to see and I'm better for it. I hope I have given her a fraction of the love and support she has shown me.

I don't worry about where in the world my adventuress may be. She's only a skype away and always here in my heart.

No one has a more apt name on cm.
