We are talking about adult humans here......not geese. in theory you may be correct, but in my experience and past observation, it usually doesnt work that way as many submissives may be desperate for a relationship and rush into something some so called dominants too, but most of the responcibility has to fall on the person that wants to be in control

While I understand this, I also understood that the more compatible I am with my partner, the more chance of success the will be...

Actually, I can only speak for myself, and it's just one submissive's point of view. But, not only do I WANT that, I need it. I don't exist in a vacuum. I have responsibilities- kids, financial obligations, house, etc. Those are MY responsibilities. Might I share them with the right Dom? Of course, that's what a partnership is about. BUT, just because I surrender to Him in a power exchange relationship, it does not negate MY responsibilites. If anything, I suspect, many submissives have MORE responsibilities than their 'nilla counterparts, because they willingly take on responsibilities given them by their Partners. The average person has more leeway in what responsibilities are theirs.
