Hi,
saw this thread and wanted to add my story
We met on CM about 2 years ago now, we talked for about 2 weeks before we met in RT
The moment we met it was like a magnet was pulling us together, literal animal attraction.
We where together almost a year and a half, she wore my collar with pride, and I was the happiest dog on the porch.
hot play, happy times, lots of laughter.
And then, the vanilla world stepped in, the economy, jobs, family obligations.
And she was gone,
I still hear from her from time to time
But it's hard, when you find a love that stands out in your life, going back can just hurt a little too much.
And here I am, back again, seeing if lightning strikes twice...

I am sorry that you lost someone so special to you.  I also know that the best relationship have not only the passion, romance, and sex, but also the routine, mundane, and vanilla. Perhaps it is not that lightning needs to strike twice, but that next time around you will see your whole world ablaze in glorious beauty and not just some of the more emotional bits and pieces.  I wish you the best in your search and hope you find that endurant love you seek.

To quote Jean Anouilh

"There is love of course. And then there's life, its enemy."

Sorry to hear that you got screwed by life, I hope it all works outfor you later...

Having experienced that high of love, happiness and kink and having lost it myself, I know what you are saying.  The alternative of giving up though is to give in.  It is fully possible to find love twice.

Try to figure out what it was about real life that was the undoing of things, try to learn a lesson from it if there is one to be learned.

Good luck.

Love always seems to come when you are looking the other way. I met my sub when I had given up on meeting a sub, so instead picked up one of the "normal" guys who had been asking me out on a regular basis. He is just amazing and I couldn't ask for better. We've only got the one problem: that I love him too much and I probably indulge him more than I should.

I met a few good friends on here and that was wonderful.

So if I understand right, she got bored with it turning vanilla or you did?

I think he meant circumstances extraneous to his relationship intervened.
OP, I can definitely relate. It does suck. The lover I lost is my best friend. Lost her to "extraneous circumstances" as well. It hurts too much, so I don't speak or contact her.

is that a real pussycat - so cute! - always amazes me how they keep their whites so white, im damned if i can.

to the OP - im not saying all wasnt perfect, but sometimes we do look back with a certain amount of focus on the great and forget the bits that werent so great.  no relationship is without its ups and downs.

i will say that whilst youre looking back its going to be really difficult for anyone to fill her boots and if someone feels theyre being held up for comparison youre not going to find anyone likely to hang about for that.

so it was great and thats great. you had a brilliant time together.  you can have another brilliant time with someone else.  but you need to leave the past in the past now.  everyone brings something different with them, try not to look for replication, try and find something different in someone new.

this is a happy, progressive, exciting thing, not a time for regrets and living in the past.

Well written, excellent perspective and Lack of need to blame or pass judgment. Congrats on dealing well with a tough turn in life.  Something leads me to believe youll do fine if you keep the current perspective, Good luck. J.

If this is what people on this site call a 'positive' experience what's the point of having a negative one?

I agree with lally2. Though it really sucks to lose someone you love, there is always an opportunity to find someone new. You have to be in the right state of mind though. Whatever it is you have to do to get over her to make your life better, do it. Good luck.

Jocelyn
