Whether UK posters are fond of Mrs Thatchter or not, she was the first British Female Prime Minister which does say a lot, she took the top seat, not any of her Conservative party colleagues who were male. Either this says a lot about the conservative party, in that they did not have a competant male leader to put up for the top job or it was Mrs T was the best person for the job. Either way, it is not particularly conservative for a conservative party to change their ways and allow a female to take the top position. One thing I did admire about Mrs T though, she stood up to people and there countries, perhaps she had what was remaing of empire spirit about her. I think she did hold two periods of office, in that she was re elected, so she musn't have been that bad compared to the rest. She was also the only PM to break the hold the unions had over Britain.

Arpig you isn't more far left than me, I'm so far left that the other week I redistributed all my cookies to the poor people living on the council estate down the road. The week before that I decided my grass being green might offend those not lucky enough to have grass, so I concreted over my lawn. I'm so far left my car runs on the energy of pure thought and my recycling habits put a magpie to shame.

Arpig please point out the qualifier"when we select our leaders" in Kirata's original post....show me that all important qualifier and I will withdraw my statement ,otherwise it stands as stated...hell ,allow me to expand on it...I happen to think it is rather a touch of genius for those on the top of the food chain to now all of a sudden become converts to gender and race blindness....very fucking convienant. But again show me his qualifier and your point is well taken

Don't be daft...the two have nothing to do with each other. Being a male Dom does not mean I believe women to be inferior in any way, it merely reflects the way I prefer to have a relationship. Being a feminist in no way means I want feminisation (how you made this particular leap is beyond me), it means I firmly believe that men & women should be treated equally in all things, that men and women should have the opportunity to make whatever they will out of their lives equally. But again show me his qualifier and your point is well taken Now its your turn to be deliberately obtuse...he said he didn't give a damn who was in congress if they were like Hazel...meaning he doesn't care what their race or gender or age is if they are doing the job right (which she seemingly is). Therefore he said that he, like me, would try to elect the best candidate irrespective of race or gender. He did not need the "qualifier" (as you term it) because it was clear what he was saying...only a fool or someone trying really hard could have missed that. You say it is "convenient" of us to hold this point of view because we are white males. Well buggered if we ain't in a hard spot eh? If we try to vote for a white male we are continuing the oppression of minorities, and if we advocate gender/racial blindness we are somehow trying to continue opressing them and thus are in the same boat. What are we supposed to do...vote for only minority candidates? What if they aren't the best qualified? Am I supposed to feel some guilt for the treatment of minorities by other white males? No...I am responsible for my actions only, not those of others, and I will stand on my record, I am content with the life I have lead as far as minority rights is concerned. I have been a supprter of minority rights and openly practiced & advocated it since elementary school. You can take your condescension and stuff it where the sun don't shine.

Sheeesh ,that was a little bit over the top don't you think?So I went back and read Kirata's statement...and ,funny thing is I found the qualifier...which means I guess I owe you and kirata an apology....Kirata's original statement did specify a desire for color and gender blindness...."in politics".So I'm sorry ,I was wr...,I was wr......okay I was wrong.

Neither I, nor as far as I know, anyone else said or even implied that being a dom includes a belief that women are somehow inferior. One can only wonder how you came to that conclusion. On the other hand your a great example that wisdom does not necessarily come with age.
