I don't really ever think about whether I am happy or not.

I do know that I consciously choose to live with joy..........deep, unwavering joy.

I also believe that, no matter what obstacles I face, what tragedies befall, everything will ultimately be okay. I will get through it. I firmly believe that I can handle ANYTHING life throws at me. I am not afraid because I just know.

Happiness is to me, more of a surface emotion. Not much different that annoyance, being pissy, sad, disappointed.........all surface stuff that comes and goes. None of it affects my joy or my confidence in the things I described above.

Events occur where a person goes to a public place and starts shooting people. Do happy people do things like that? No. Sad people do some very bad things. I never hear about happy people doing real bad things.

When My girl gets sad she gets in trouble. Not for being sad... but she just starts screwing everything up and making bad mistakes and rash thoughtless decisions. When she is happy she rarely gets in trouble with Me or others.

i saw this on the scroll and then read more of the thread.
 
Although i sing different songs, songs help me at a time like this.
 
Right now happiness means so many different things to me...
...another day to enjoy
...another chance to help someone else
...another opportunity to make my space look nicer
...another message to a friend
...another puzzle to solve
...another package to send a grand-um
...another day to enjoy

Yeah..most of my unhappiness comes from not being able to pay bills in a timely manner...

oh, a new car would be nice too .....one that actually is mechanically sound...
