D&D 3.0 ( no backwards math )
Vampire the Masquerade

Table top and LARP are great, computers can't hold my interest.

Entropy Mages are just a little too close to my personal spirituality for my comfort.  I can't play with something that personal, if that makes sense.
Really?

Obviously that makes sense, but I've never run into that point of view before.  (One of the reasons I like Deadlands, Shadowrun 4E, and Promethean is that all of them have rules for Jewish magical systems!)  If you don't mind me asking, why is that?

Hmm.  Old school D&D (not sure I  like 4th ed), Shadowrun, GURPS, Paranoia, Call of Cthulhu, World of Darkness, Champions, Stormbringer, 7th Sea, and a lot of homebrewed systems including my own.  Currently running an original-world steampunk/sorcery campaign online; about half the players are kinksters.

Also, I LARP.  I tend to play a tank in full (real) armor when I do, as there's nothing more fun than getting your D&D and your resistance + cardio workout at the same time.  :)

No problem.

To start, I'm pagan and my patron goddess is the Morrigan.  If you know anything about Celtic mythology, you'll know she's not a kind or gentle goddess.  Her sphere of influence is almost identical to Entropy mages.  Somehow, it just feels wrong to make a game of something so deeply spiritual.

I could play an Entropy mage if I was the only one, or if only other devotees of Morrigan (or similar deities) were playing them.  At least then I'd feel like the spiritual path was being played well and with respect.  But that's not the case.  Watching some meshugana who had no respect for it dicking around with my spiritual path would piss me off too much.  I'd start channeling Morrigan on their arse and it would just be ugly.

Better just to avoid the situation.

Ah, that makes sense.  And it explains the differences in our perspectives: people want to try the OMGWTFAWESOME Pagan stuff all the time; no one actually wants to play as a Jew.

And I mean, that sounds fairly defeatist/anti-Semetic, I guess, but seriously: when was the last time you saw a Jewish PC?  Hell, even I hardly ever play one.

Last time I saw a Jewish PC was when my ex-husband was playing a Nocker named Thadeus Schwartz in our Changeling: the Dreaming LARP.  At least, that was the last time I remember it.  I think there were some other Jewish PCs in some of the other venues, but it's been so long I can't remember for sure.  I'd totally play a Jewish character if I knew more about the Kabbalah and could play a character who used Kabbalistic rituals in-game.  But then, I'm also the gamer chick who came up with a character concept for a hippy Tremere.

Both Deadlands and Shadowrun 4 have rules for Kabbalah, in a way that's a little generic but works well with the system.  I highly recommend 'em anyway. :D

If I ever have an opportunity to play again, I'll have to check them out.  Unfortunately, motherhood has devoured all my free time so it may be awhile.  Of course, I'd probably still wait to play a Jewish character until I'd done more research on the Kabbalah.  I'm one of those crazy people who goes all out for a character.  Before my divorce, my ex-husband was sewing me a traditional kimono so I could play a Ragabash Shadowlord in the Werewolf game.  Sadly, we moved and the material went into storage...which subsequently flooded.  Water + silk = BAD.

I've stuck to free form rpgs for most of my life, but moved over to D6 in the last few years.

Erm, I'm something of a professional geek, as I co-own a small press publishing and RPG company. We also do tactical space combat and jet combat games.
So, I've worked on - on the side lines - the Honor Harrington SITS game. The Jaynes guides for the Honor Harrington Universe. Pack and bind things for the Birds of Prey game. Same with the Attack Vector:Tactical.
Written fiction for an upcoming Jerry Pournelle game.
And I'm working on the new Valdemar game.

It's fun to be paid to be a geek. The stack of gaming books here seems to grow by the month!

Oh, for those interested in Honor Harrington, David Weber will be at Origin's this year in Columbus Ohio.

My friend used to work for a RPG company in the UK and collected a huge pile of games, books, supplements etc - which he considerately left at my place while he moved - and then didnt want them as he didn't have any space!

I have read a few as I helped him on some he worked on (I trained as an archaeologist and he needed advice at times) but the only
stuff I really like are the Tekumel-based products. A really amazing creation (languages, religions, cultures etc) and nicely redolent
of ancient civilisations on Earth.

I stumbled into the situation through meeting my now business partner, Scott, on a critique list.  In this industry it truly is a case of 'not what you know, but who you know.' Still, I'm hoping to make it to Fort Wayne for the Alliance trade show. Which means tons of freebies...err, I mean showcasing the upcoming games and books.

Yeah, the only reason I ever got to be a SW SAGA playtester was... well, let's say it was because of who I know and leave it at that for anonymity purposes.

Never really got into tabletops, but if it's on a computer, I probably will/have/do play it.

The old Infocom games will always hold a special place in my heart. ;-) Leather Goddesses of Phobos, anyone?

Loved the original Zelda & Link games on NES - very groundbreaking for their time!

I can't help it, I have always adored the Final Fantasy series. Of course this also extends to the Kingdom Hearts games! How can you not love a game that lets you travel with Goofy and Donald Duck to Wonderland, Under the Sea, to Halloweentown, to Neverland, and inside Monstro the Whale??

And yes, I am a girl, so sue me. :-P

That is a great video and a great song.  It's like Black Sabbath, but younger, hairier, and not as nasal.
