I agree, having a dungeon in the sticks is risky business. The village police are not exactly rushed off their feet chasing criminals and keeping law and order. Like Lady Ellen said, a conviction is the least of your worries in a place where neighbours know everyone on the street. Dungeons in the bigger cities tend to get left alone but even certain boroughs of London are risky. As far as going down the legal route of having a dungeon to hire, there are all sorts of complications. If its your own home and it is more than 10% of the property being used, then you need to approach your local council for change of use and its unlikely they will give it to you but even if they do they will put public notices up on local lampposts to see if there are any protests. Planning inspectors will visit and tell you what is required. They will want to know about noise, numbers in the building including staff, parking etc . You will have to install things like fire doors and fire notices will have to be added. If you have a commercial building then its the same procedure. Then you need to find insurance and you may well not be able to find any. The law is currently changing over here for lap dancing clubs. These clubs are going to have to apply for sex licences to trade and because sex licences are so difficult to be had, most lap dancing clubs will be closing their doors. It may well be that you would have to apply for a sex licence to open your doors.
