International Space Station   Look at what happened from 1998 until 2008. In just ten years it has grown and grown.

Watch the pieces come together as they are sent up from Earth.     This is the International Space Station (ISS) Assembly diagram, piece by piece.

After the initial animation plays thru (about 2 min.) you can click on the list at the right side of the screen (view in full screen mode) to get detailed info about each module.

What a piece of engineering!!

Soon we will know for sure how watercress grows in zero gravity, I can't tell you how long this question has been bothering me.

Even more cool when you know where and when to look as it passes overhead in the night sky and can convince various morons that the aliens are coming.

Yup, my local pub turned out last summer to watch it fly over, it extended pub opening time ) it came just after the shuttle went over, having not so long launched, but what was interesting about the shuttle, was it had just dropped it's external fuel tank and that was seen to be following behind. The ISS, is pretty bright in the sky and shifts fast.

That's just a drawing, I thought you were going to show an actual video in space of them putting it together. That's what I would like to see!

While I admit a weakness for most things SPACE..

I'm not to impressed, as it has been 12 years to get the thing built. At this rate it'll take a 500 years to get people living on mars.

We shouldn't be allowed to move to another planet til we've learned how to take care of the one we're already on.
