Hi Thorn,
Hey I was not trying to tick you off or the admins.
The sheep reference is mainly biblical. In the bible we are all refered to as sheep on several occasions. I think it is a pretty accurate protrayal of people as a whole.
As for the Dalai Lama and the neutron bomb. it is in the book Imagine All The People - A Conversation With The Dalai Lama On Money, Politics, And Life As It Could Be.
Yeh, I know it is shocking the Dalai Lama saying that if there has got to be war then lets do it with neutron bombs because that makes the most sense. It freaked me out the first few times I read it also then I came to understand his reasoning and the practicallity of it.
He is a wise man filled with great ideas that he knows and acknowledges will never happen. Yet he never gives up. You really have to admire that. I try to catch his seminars when he is in Seattle at the UW. I think his teaching reminds me of all the Native American teaching I used to study - beautiful but impractical in a modern, materialistic, and cut throat world.

Thorn,
I also took the time to run the numbers for deficit spending starting with Jimmy Carter and a doing a conservative estimate of 5 Trillion dollars for Obamas programs (which is actually lower than the Whitehouse Budget estimates for 2011 by 1.3 trillion dollars) and the result was 6.7 Trillion in new debt for the democrats and 7.6 trillion in new debt for the Republicans.
I do not support either party and who did it really makes no difference. The simple fact is the the national debt is now over 12.5 trillion or more than $100,000 per US household. By the end of Obamas term it will exceed the gross domestic product and the country will effectively be bankrupt. But don't worry, the politicians have a plan - use artificially created inflation to help pay off the debt which will also drive up housing prices and create a new boom. Last I heard the target was 25% inflation over the next 10 years. (Do it slow enough and the sheep won't notice much ;-)

Well you brought it on yourself Mike (and that hangover), what with being a liberal commie pinko and all.

Carlos Hathcock wrote a book? For real?

Yes it is called White Feather.

'White Feather' was about Hathcock, but it was written by Roy and Norm Chandler.  Hathcock never authored any books.

~stef

True, Carlos was not the most articulate person I ever met.  White Feather is his authorized biography.
