So you do realise we have all been paying for the uninsured all along?...And still you persist with this sillyness, how very sad.

cuckyman -> RE: Health care passes (3/22/2010 12:13:28 AM)

This whole mess if Obama's brain fart, and he and the democrat congress is going to eat the thing before its all said and done...this thing is nothing more than a goverment takeover of our healthcare system...anyone who thinks differently is not real smart..... it ain't gonna happen..... hide and watch....

cuckyman -> RE: Health care passes (3/22/2010 12:15:29 AM)

I don't disagree that we, in the end, pay for it all, but we don't want the stinking government to get their greedy fingers into the business of our healthcare....that is NOT what government is about in this nation..... get it?

mcbride -> RE: Health care passes (3/22/2010 12:16:50 AM)

Funnily enough, cuckster, the Mayo Clinic believes that U.S. health care urgently needs reform, and recommends that the government oversee it.

If that causes a dramatic increase in your blood pressure, may I remind you that an ACE inhibitor like Lisinopril is available in Canada for a more reasonable price, and without the permission of an insurance company death panel.

The Mayo Clinic is a privately run clinic in Rochester Minnesota that is considered to be, if not actually, the best diagnosis and treatment center for diseases and ailments that are not able to adequately treated by the usual specialists throughout the the nation.... the doctors are legendary for their accomplishments, and many people who can not be 'cured' go there as a last resort, and many of them find that they are given a way to battle their ailments...its a nationally famous clinic and their reptutation is well deserved....they are the best we have....

Yep. And it was founded because of a tornado. Back in the late 1800s, there was a doctor in Rochester named Mayo, and he had 2 or 3 sons who were also doctors. They were very serious about their profession, at a time when standards for becoming a doctor were really quite low. They were quite highly-regarded, and widely respected by the people in the community.

In 1880-something, a huge F-5 tornado devastated the area, and many residents were badly injured. Part of the problem was that the tornado was so large, many people didn't recognize it as a tornado - the funnel was over a half-mile wide, and people just thought it was a strange rain cloud. So they stood outside watching it approach, and were caught out in the open when it hit. There was no hospital in the area, so the local convent had to take in the injured. After the crisis was over, the nuns saw the need for a hospital, and beseeched the Doctors Mayo to lead the effort. They were reluctant, because they really didn't want to be in the hospital business, but the nuns managed to appeal to their sense of philanthropic duty, and ultimately prevailed. And thus, the Mayo Clinic was born, and the ideals and principles of the Mayos lives on even today in the clinic's sense of mission.

Just a little bit of trivia. Now, back to your regularly scheduled shrieking and mayhem....

Yes, if you are injured in say a car accident...the ambulance will take you to a hospital where you will be treated...period....the questions about insurance come later, and you will be billed.... but usually it is written off or just lumped into expenses that are charged to all other patients.... no one goes without treatment....we are not the Soviet Union yet...but the dems are working on it for sure....

wait wait wait.. so I get billed for the treatment?? How much does it cost?? How long will the debt collectors harass me before they write it off? How does it affect my credit?
Come on young lady surely you know the answers to those questions...it can screw up your credit rating just like any other unpaid debt.....but the secret to success down here is that most affected by these unpaid bills are so poor they don't have credit ratings anyway...so it's a win win for them.....of course up till now they also did not have access to preventive medical care....so the first and last time they see a doctor for any given problem is when it gets so bad they need an emergancy room...thereby being an unecessary drain on er's and trauma units all across the country. Now meanwhile everyone with insurance is paying higher and higher premiums...in part to feed the insrance companies insane desire for profits...and in part to cover the losses from er "deadbeats"...so all of the crying over paying for the uninsured is so much smoke and mirrors...we have been paying for them for years. The cuckies of the world don't want to hear that though...they like the status quo just fine.

cuckyman -> RE: Health care passes (3/22/2010 12:19:30 AM)

IF you 'went' to the Mayo, and did not see a Canadian license plate, you are indeed in need of vision augmentation...stat!  My neighbor goes once a month for treatment and everytime he comments on it.....

No,actually I don't...but than again I "get" very little of your reasoning...and for that I am eternally grateful.

Your neighbor in bum fuck Florida goes once a month to The Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minn.

NOONE that is sick in this nation, is unable to get treatment from a healthcare facility..... it is a daily practice, and anyone who says differently is a liar....

Well, you're either an idiot for believing that myth or a liar for repeating it. People with chronic conditions that are not immediately life-threatening do not receive maintenance care, and tens of thousands of people die each year for lack of access to preventive care. If you don't know what you're talking about, that's fine, but you'd look like less of a fool if you weren't so abrasive and insulting every time you bray your ignorance at the top of your lungs.

Of course what he is not saying is the so called 'poor' people are in fact drug addicts in big eastern liberal cities that wouldn't go to health maintenance appointments if they were free.... they are more interested in robbing someone to get their next fix.... the liberal cities are such a wonderful example of the democrats 'great society' they envision..... crumbling filthy drug infested, crime infested shit  holes would  be the descriptions by most people..... and yet they want to tell the rest of us what to do..... what a joke....

No, he's completely full of shit. They'll bill you for it  and hound you to the gates of hell for the money, and millions of people declare bankruptcy and lose their homes each year because of it. They don't "write it off" and roll it into their budget until after it's become uncollectable because of your bankruptcy.

How can you not love this guy?

Don't forget the fun times when they go to collections, then to court, and warrants are actually issued and some people end up in jail because they couldn't pay.  But that's okay.  Let's send the deadbeats to the gulag, right?

So you mean to tell me is that you've met every single person in the USA living below the poverty line and can personally attest to them ALL being drug addicts out of "big eastern liberal cities"?? Come on now, even I know there are people living in poverty spread all across your country, I often see them when tornados hit and I've never heard of them hitting a "big eastern liberal city". There are people living in my country below the poverty line in small towns throughout Ontario for goodness sake.

Oh, sweet, silly cucky.

From a study of major US hospitals close to the border:

"Almost 40 percent of the facilities we surveyed reported treating no Canadians [over the year], while an additional 40 percent had seen fewer than ten patients. Fifteen percent of respondent sites reported treating 10–25 Canadian patients, and only about 5 percent reported seeing more than 25 during the previous year (generally 25–75 patients; none reported more than 100).
Of those, it found, emergency/urgent admissions and admissions related to pregnancy and birth constituted about 80 percent of the stateside admissions."

Meaning, 80% were there because they broke an arm, or broke their water.

Now, is your neighbour's name...Harvey?

countrychick -> RE: Health care passes (3/22/2010 12:30:54 AM)

Wow I can't even fathom someone going to jail for not paying a bill for health care.. Like what if say someone just lost their job (as I know has happened world wide recently) and they couldnt pay and they had a family to support? Can you imagine getting carted off to jail because you couldnt pay for healthcare and your children end up good knows where..wow... thats just truly sad..
