Recently I am seeing situations where the law of the land in some countries is taking second place to religious law, the situation with the Catholic Church, and also the situation with Islam in some non Islamic countries. What is the score, what law should hold the highest office, the organised religions, or the law of the land ?

The only question here is why you think that's a question. Those who are fully committed to the "revealed Word of God" are going to say God's law, their God of course, and everybody else is going to say the law of the land. A more interesting question would be, do you think it's acceptable to wear white after Labor Day?

The answer seems obvious.

But established religions inform the law of the of the land. The Church of England may seem pretty much useless in a secular nation - but the values of the Church of England play a significant role in the values of the English people. The Church of England stands for tolerance (obviously to a point but you know what I mean)/moderation (it's enough for the Church for people to turn up once a year and CofE is short on dogma - it's certainly not Catholic in terms of instruction; nor are the English people)/confusion (the CofE just makes it up as it goes along - "you what? you've sinned again?.....ahh never mind....just keep your nose clean from here on in and it'll pan out fine" - a bit like the English who sort of stumble into situations and improvise from there).

And the US states? Anti-gambling laws etc informed by Presbytarianism.
