Greetings

I have one laptop computer, one stationary computer, a Playstation 3 with internet access. A Xbox 360 which can get Internet access but which I do not use for that. A cell phone with Internet access and two older computers I could hook up but which is generally nto being used. I think I can go online with my PSP and my Nintende DS (I just love that name for a game console) to but I have never used those functions.

I wish you well

an old laptop,
my gaming pc ( dual graphics cards.....quad core..8gig memory)..bit of an overkill for just browsing
and...my HTC Topaz...win mobile phone.

...and for 8 hours a day my pc at work...

A 12-year old Powerbook G3 running Mac OS 9.2.2, an 11-year old Power Mac G4/AGP running Mac OS X 10.4.11, and a 5-year old iBook G4 running Mac OS X 10.4.11. All three of which are in various states of disrepair (parts no longer working due to age) but they do give me the ability to check mail, browse the web, and occasionally allow me to use Facebook or other sites (though that's getting harder and harder to do). If necessary, there is also a 9-year old iMac G3 running Mac OS X 10.4.11 available but it's CRT is about ready buzz/fry out.

That's it. No smart or web-enabled phones, no gaming consoles, no modern computers.

A 5ish yo laptop, a spiffy monster gaming desktop GD bought about the same time I got my laptop and my phone has internet.

I have one main PC here at work and 5 others I use on occasion. In addition to two Macs.

My internet service at home is mobile broadband and here at work we have DSL.

Louve00 -> RE: Your online set up- (3/30/2010 10:53:01 AM)

I surf and work on FireFox and IE.  FireFox for one job, IE7 for another.  I am thinking about d/l'ing a browser called sea monkey to try out, but haven't got around to doing it yet.

BKSir -> RE: Your online set up- (3/30/2010 11:09:45 AM)

Uhm, let's see...  Modem in to hardware router, out to the switch, from the switch to the:
*PBX server
*Media server
*Game server
*Security DVR machine
*Test box
*My desktop
*M's desktop
*B's desktop
*3 XBox's (the old ones, not the 360s) as media boxes hooked to the tvs
*2 Playstation 3's.
*Wireless Access Point's.  (one upstairs and one down)
*My laptop
*M's laptop
*G's laptop
*B's laptop

I know I'm forgetting a couple servers somewhere in there, but I don't interact with those, they're B's toys.

Not counting the handheld systems (PSPs and DS's) or the cell phones or the Archos 7-series.

What geeks?  WHERE!?  O.o

Edit to add:  I'm actually putting my foot down on the number of systems now...  Until I get a new laptop, then my old laptop will turn into my dedicated radio stream box.

pahunkboy -> RE: Your online set up- (3/30/2010 11:17:38 AM)

interesting that there are alot of desktops.

ReflectiveSoul2 -> RE: Your online set up- (3/30/2010 12:23:47 PM)

I have 3 desktops that are functioning, and like 5 in the closet for parts lol... I gotta get rid of that shit eventually... the one I use most is a Dell Optiplex. It handles the games pretty well ( I added a lot of upgrades) and its great for just mail and such.

I use a Dell laptop at my mother in laws, don't really care for that, am quite happy with muh lil point and click mouse... hate those touch pads....

ShaharThorne -> RE: Your online set up- (3/30/2010 1:32:58 PM)

I use satellite internet at home, I use cable modem at Lizard's home. Desktops at both locations.  the one at Lizard's place is an older model by Dell with a 512 meg card for gaming.  This computer has a builtin 512 graphics card with an 360 gig HD and 6 gigs of Ram.  Its a HP I got in November and replace a dialup 8yo Compaq.

DesFIP -> RE: Your online set up- (3/30/2010 2:49:51 PM)

I have the desk top, other members of the family have laptops. There's an ancient desktop in my son's room that he uses if his laptop is down, or other friends will go on when here.

WyldHrt -> RE: Your online set up- (3/30/2010 3:15:58 PM)

2 laptops, 1 netbook, and an ancient desktop that I no longer use unless all 3 lappys are down.

LinnaeaBorealis -> RE: Your online set up- (3/30/2010 4:06:12 PM)

There's the laptop that I am currently using, plus the old one which isn't very happy & may die at any second.  Again.  I have Verizon broadband, which I got because I was roaming the country in those big trucks.  Now it suits me because I can sign on anywhere I happen to be without having to go through someone else's network.  I can go online from my phone but never do.
