siamsa24 -> RE: choking play, breath play, and asphyxiation (9/13/2004 2:09:31 PM)

I have some experience on the recieving end of this and this is all based on my experience and may or may not work for others. I was involved in grappling, or ground fighting, for many years. This is something done under strict supervision with many rules. One of the ways to win a fight was to choke your opponent. To signal that you had had enough you "tapped out" this was done by deliberately tapping until the other person stopped. This could be done with the hand or the foot on any surface, usually in the case of grappling it was either on the other person or on the floor. This means that you must be aware and listening for the tapping to happen, because they will only do it when they can't take it any more. There was also a rule that if the person went limp, stopped struggling or passed out the other person was to stop immediately and release the person. I use this same method with breath play. I always have a hand or foot free enough to tap. Before we started I made sure that my Dom was aware of the signal and what it would feel or sound like. I hope this helps, and feel free to ask for clarification if I didn't explain something very well.
