I have been having an issue when I try to wear a rubber ball gag that we have and I was wondering what could be causing my tongue and lips to burn when I wear it. I can use other latex things without an issue. And I was wondering what I could do to stop the burning. I already cleaned them with soap and it still causes the burning.

The issue is a form of rubber contact dermatitis. It can be caused by a lot of things, from the accelerators that are used to actually synthetically prepare the rubber, to the different chemicals that may be infused with dyes to give it the color and whatnot.

Because you've washed it with soap, I'm willing to bet that it's not anything particularly on the rubber ball gag, but more so a chemical compound that was put into the rubber ball gag when it was harvested and manufactured.

Your best bet, is to get rid of the ball gag, and either buy another one and HOPE that it doesn't have the same effect, or find an alternate form of gag that isn't made of rubber :)

How about a length of cloth like a scarf with a knot tied in it? Very washable and cotton should not give you any trouble.

I was wondering if silicone would have the same effect as the rubber did.

You can try silicone. I was also thinking you may not be having a reaction to the actual material the ball is made of. You may be reacting to it rubbing against your skin or chafing you.

You can get ball gags with plastic balls instead of the latex. You might give that a try.

It might also be the toxic effect called off gassing, which is where the chemicals in the toy are leaching out and causing allergic reactions in your skin. I have that trouble with jelly toys. You really need to be careful of poor quality toys. Jelly toys and cyber skin toys and rubber, are for the larger part to be avoided because of this off gassing, and the burning sensation when the chemicals come in contact with your skin.

Silicon, don't have pthalates which cause the off gassing, and so they don't do that. Or at least most them don't, there might be a few that do I don't know.

I personally have made my own ball gags very inexpensively using indoor practice golf balls, a hollow light weight golf ball with holes in it like a wiffle ball, These should help you and a pack of 9 balls is less than 5 dollars, I made mine for a sub that had asthma and these worked well because she could breath thru them easily, but had a very similar action on her as a regular ball gag

We are looking for a ball gag that will actually muffle noises as we have neighbors close by and need to keep quiet. We are considering some silicone ones but some of the reviews we have read have said of similar experiences as what I experienced with the rubber. So, if any of you have tried silicone and have had good results the sites you used would be helpful in my search.

i had a contact dermatitis from something used to put me under during surgery,it was raw and rashy and spread on my face,try a silicon ball i would think,good luck ~ jewels
