I have had 2 separate mastectomies and breast reconstructions, as a result of breast cancer. I have not had sex or BDSM play since then
(several years). Does anyone have experience with this, i.e., bondage?
No reconstructed nipples; have a choice of getting them or just getting tattoos that really resemble nipple aereola. Thank you.

Welcome back! I know there are some restrictions on what can and can not be done to the arms after breast surgery but am unsure if there is a time limit on how long those restrictions last. For example, you can't take blood pressure with a cuff on the side that the surgery was on. Even though there are many good and knowledgable people here I really think you would do best to talk to your doctor. I'm sure he or she will be very happy to talk this through with you.

I have absolutely no experience with the reconstructed breasts ... but all breasts, flat, large, small, dark, etc., are fantastically erotic to most of us men (well, at least to me for sure), you should have no problem from a physical perspective with BDSM play from the mental standpoint. In fact, I think you're especially interesting because of your situation and find it fantastic to think about.

That having been said, I agree that you need to ask an MD or two so as to ensure that normal D/s play wouldn't cause any problem ... and once you get the go ahead, you'll have a blast being one of the sexiest submissives in town!

post reconstruction the lymph( the portion of blood that dosent return in the blood vessles) cant return normaly so when doing bondage on your arms make sure that circulation and swelling are noted as it can be problematic. reccomend shibari or loose bonds. as far as impact play the marks can stay longer. of course a consult with your dr is needed to be sure for you.

Welcome back, and congratulations on having come through the other side!
As others have already noted, I would check with your MD before engaging in anything bondagey or hurties.
And if your own doctor is not kink friendly I am sure that others near you can point you in the direction of a practioner who is.

I didn't see any MD's in your state, but you might be able to contact one who is out-of-state via e-mail to ask for information and resources, if you aren't comfortable mentioning it to your doctor. http://www.ncsfreedom.org/index.php?option=com_wrapper&Itemid=75 Planned Parenthood tends to also be kink-friendly, so that might be another resource. I know a couple of people with mastectomies, but not reconstruction, and a couple of people who've had breast reduction and experienced some loss of sensation (it involves a bit of restructuring, but I'm aware it isn't the same).
