Brain -> Gore takes cash for water campaign from chemical firm (4/18/2010 8:34:37 PM)

It's a way to make some money I suppose.

Gore takes cash for water campaign from chemical firm

Al Gore, the self-styled squeakiest-clean and deepest-green politician in American history, has some explaining to do this weekend. His environmental organisation has taken money to raise awareness about the need for clean water from a controversial chemicals company involved in the aftermath of one of the world's worst pollution disasters.

1. So Live Earth has sponsored a concert and some fundraisers.  What's it actually DONE to help the earth?

2. You may think of Dow Chemical as the company behind Bhopal, but it has a much worse past.  It supplied napalm to the US, which was used to burn civilians in the Vietnam war.  When I went to college, some colleges refused to let Dow do recruitment on their campuses for that reason.

Explanation - dirty water kills people. Dirty money doesn't.

He cares about the world - he's idealistic.

I think it's an oversight and the money will be returned.

That's actually possible. I'm guessing that Mr. Gore has a staff that handles the day-to-day; could be his office mgr (or equivalent) deposited the check without him even being aware of its existence.

I'll believe it when I see it. BTW, just how much money are we talking about here ? As we all know the bigger the pile of money the cleaner it looks.
