The upside though is that if ten or twelve million people left the job pool/unemployed pool it would force the employers to raise the pay to a point where they could attract citizens who know their rights and are willing to stand up for them and cannot be coerced into taking less than their labor is worth. That federal law that merc was kind enough to link us to which showed that illegal aliens have commited a federal misdomeanor the rest of the law points out that the hiring of an illegal alien is a felony and I think ten large for each violation plus some manditory boogie house time. I find it courious that if you can bust an illegal alien for a misdomeanor you ought to be able to negotiate the name of his boss which would be a felony bust and plenty of do rey mi for the public coffers. But then I obviously do not understand how politcs really work.

You do the crime, you do the time. Isn't that the basic premise of our legal system? Isn't it the job of law enforcement to find those that did the crime? Isn't it the responsibility of a state to protect it's own from law violators? If you don't want them to be illegal, then legalize them. The solution is simple. otherwise let the police do it's job and force the fed to do its.
