HybridMoments -> Slumbering lions (4/25/2010 3:17:31 AM)

We awoke at dawn Lying together like slumbering lions Dreaming to the tune of an old song that creeps and crawls in this petty place Like salty clouds over Nod. I look in mirrors and sigh At too many reflections and dissections Of the self, We don't exist except in my head And that's always been the problem. But that's okay. A little older and colder Until our minds freeze over and our hearts cry Black onyx tears of loathing and filth Our only collected wealth to offer to anyone A magnificent and terrible empire of nothing When it should have been something, anything To connect with another and have a lover Of both soul and flesh, the ultimate; To be owned by and own another
