The problem is most of the food you buy off the shelf is junk. Filled with garbage, designed to keep you a fat hungry consumer. This is what worked for me, Eliminate all red meat, poultry and seafood. Eliminate all sugars, including honey, maple syrup, fruit, and please no artificial sweeteners Eliminate all dairy products, including cheese and eggs Eliminate all processed foods This is basically a vegan/plant based diet. Whole grains, beans, vegetables. It will work wonders for almost any condition, as long as your diabetes is not too far gone it should cure it. And no, you do not need the "protein" from meat and dairy. A proper balance will sustain you throughout the day. It has been over 2 years since I went vegan, I have a physical job, on my feet all day, walk 1/2 hour twice a day every day, and work around the house every night and all weekend. And I can still outwork any 3 men in the shop. Eating this way caused me to lose 45 lbs in 60 days, 80 lbs in six months. I did find myself a bit weak after about 9 months, and upped my intake of oil, put back about 12 lbs.
