I'm fairly new to exploring my kink, but know that I love knife play.  I'd love to get a good knife or two, and would appreciate suggestions as to some good options.  I'm not interested in cutting or blood play, just the sensation of the sharp point running down my skin, and how to create that for others as well.

Thanks!

Knives are a highly individualistic thing.

If you aren't looking for cutting power, the main things to look for would be quality points such as good quality steel, tight and well fitting handles, rivets or bolsters fitting flush, and hinges that don't have a lot of give or wobble.  If it is a folder, the locking mechanism must be secure and have little play.

I personally prefer practical, everyday carry type knives, such as my Ka-Bar Warthog, my Cold Steel Tokyo Spike, or my Spyderco folder.  Others prefer the looks and balances of fantasy knives with large curves and spikes and such.  And yet still others will use a steel or plastic butter knife.  It depends on the situation or scene.  Even a little scalpel or EMS shears can be useful in a medical scene.  Swords are good for theatricality, but worthless for knifeplay.  Granted, someone w/ Zorro like precision can make slicing clothes off interesting.

I would highly recommend a pair of EMS shears in addition to any other blade as well.  Damn things will cut a penny in two and they're cheap enough to have a couple pair.

www.spyderco.com - Probably the best folding knives on, above, or below the face of the planet.

www.crkt.com - Good knives.
