This guy was on a 'no fly list'. How did he get on an airplane flying to Dubai ? Great job Janet Napolitano and your inept department.

A few points to consider before blaming someone...

1)  He was on the no fly list when he made the reservations, which should have been flagged and reported... BY THE PERSON TAKING THE RESERVATION INFORMATION.

2) His name should have come up on the computer when he picked up his ticket at the airline counter, Airline employee should have seen it and notified TSA.

3)  He should have never been issued a boarding pass.  THIS IS NOT PART OF HOMELAND SECURITY, the airlines issue boarding passes.

I see. So covering the Dept of Homeland Security's ass is more important than covering the asses of the people they are supposed to be securing? This is their responsibility, no matter how they chose to delegate the work.

Mayor Bloomburg was saying that it could be "someone disgruntled with healthcare" or something very similar.
He was just chomping at the bit to blame the "right-wing militias", well guess what,..... he got his wish! [:D]
I can just imagine him a few days ago; "Please let it be a white guy from Michigan or West Virginia!"
Someone after 9/11 said that the Liberals whould be sympathizing with the terrorists. They don't even want to use the word "terrorist" anymore.

Real0ne -> RE: Times Square bomb attempt. (5/4/2010 11:15:01 PM)

or these evil sovereigns and nationals.  all extremists that insist that government officials take their proper oaths of office as required by the constitution not the statutory one that expatriates them.

you got it.

the oaths they are taking expatriates them and they are officially foreign agents not in your jurisdiction.

So why would they give a rats ass about protecting you me or the constitution?

They do not and its proven time and time again but will anyone on these boards actually get serious and research it and then do something about it?

Naaahhhhhh  to busy with drama side of equation to make a difference.

Real, speaking for myself (and I suspect a good number of posters, even many who vehemently disagree with me on most things). I have no desire to destroy the Constitution of the United States and Overthrow the Government. You reject the constitution, over and over. You have openly said several times you want to revert to the Articles of Federation. You and a couple of other anti american assholes.

Destroying the Governemnt is not the Goal.

Why do you hate America so much? Honestly, tell me.

Dawg, here is an article that explains the wacky soverign citizen movement.

As the article explains, one of their sterling members is Terry Nichols, the sonovabitch who assisted Timothy McVeigh, the bomber of the Oklaholma City Federal Building.

The article explains in detail the fabric from which RO's rants and fantasies are woven. It has been clearly demonstrated to be a seditious philosophy. Debating with him on his deranged notions only feeds fuel to his sicko fire. It is not an academic debate but one which has had tragic consequences fostered by a fabrication. It is just foolish for folks on this Board to get caught up in the endless weave of the fantasy. It is a morass of lies and bullshit which will suck you down into its dirty mud. Disgusting.

So you want TSA agents working the reservation phones, ticket counters AND passing out boarding passes?  Mind telling me who is going to pay for this little change in staffing for the airlines?

jlf1961 -> RE: Times Square bomb attempt. (5/5/2010 5:27:31 AM)

What I find is funny is that when the final manifest got to customs, a customs agent caught the man's name on the no fly list, the plane was brought back to the terminal, he was arrested, read his rights and taken into custody.

What is Sen. John McCain screaming about?

That he was read his rights, as an American citizen, which by the way he was, he became a citizen last year.

So, let me see if I understand this, if you do something like set a bomb, you dont get your miranda rights?  Or is it that John McCain doesn't want anyone to be read their rights until after they have incriminated themselves?

Strangely McCain doesn't seem to grasp that if the man had not been read his rights, he would have walked on a legal technicality.

McCain is a desperate old man who has stayed too long in the Senate and, being seriously challenged for his position, will now say anything or assume any position, including bending over and holding his ankles, in order to hang on to past glories. Too bad some of these old pols do not know when their tenure has ended and bow out with dignity.

EXPLAINS????

Defamation of sovereigns from the fucking ANTI DEFAMATION LEAGUE?

Are you completely out of your fucking mind?

Let me translate just in case people do not understand this since I am sure there may another luckdawg like you around somewhere.

take note that a hit piece from a communist organization who do everything in their power to promote communism in this country is NOT an explanation but condemnation.

I hope that helps you come to your senses.

Sovereignty is freedom and ANY antithesis is slavery.

Thanks for letting me know "precisely" where you stand.

The article by the AntiDefamation League contains all the precepts that you have been pushing on this Board, RO. You do not deny any of the particulars. Your rejoinder is a not unexpected attack on the character of the organization. Are your views misrepresented in the article? I think not. Do you deny that the murderer Terry Nichols shared your philosophy and political pov? Apparently not. Your tactic is to smear the ADL. Terry Nichols. Posse Comitatus (named after the Federal Law that withdrew Federal troops from protecting Blacks and Reconstructionists in the South cerca 1878)

When you lie down with dogs you smell like a dog. It is important for folks on this Board to understand "precisely" the nature of your political philosophy and the terrible consequences that arose from it in Oklaholma City. A despicable political phiososphy with tragic consequences.

Where did I say that, Jlf? I said it was Homeland Security's responsibility. A responsibility they don't seem competent to meet.

Real, speaking for myself (and I suspect a good number of posters, even many who vehemently disagree with me on most things).

Its best to speak for yourself lucky, in all candor I doubt anyone would want you to speak for them from what I have seen.

I have no desire to destroy the Constitution of the United States and Overthrow the Government.

Thats good lucky!  No one including myself wants to see the "government" overthrown and in fact if someone tried I would pick up my weapons suppress the insurrection.

The real question here is do you understand what I just said?

You reject the constitution, over and over.

Reject the constitution lucky?  I am not operating as the enemy of state you are.  Now you and most others probably have no inkling or clue as to how that could be remotely true but then your friends call me a kook and a whacko because they are to fucking ignorant to recognize law that I quote from the United States Code book.

Sorry pal but thats not only wack but the height of ignorance and I am expected to have intelligent discourse with these uneducated buffoons?  I think not.

The only thing I use the constitution for is to use it against them when they are very naughty boys and the question is, when are they NOT very naughty boys?

Now somewhere in that jungle of yours you concluded that "I reject the constitution".

Since you seem to believe you have it all figgered out validate your claim with clarification for the audience.

You have openly said several times you want to revert to the Articles of Federation.

Lucky I never said implied or thought such a thing.  In fact I hesistated on expounding to much on the constitution when LE pinned my ass against the wall on the matter because I am searching for a good way to present it such that it does not give people the wrong impression wherein the coice of my words would be critical.

But please feel free to elaborate on how you concluded this interesting position of yours.  I am sure if nothing else it will be entertaining

You and a couple of other anti american assholes.

AntiAmerican?  Would you please explain to us what "American" is?  You know exactly what is American?

Maybe I should ask what is an American to "you"?

Destroying the Governemnt is not the Goal.

WTF? are you talking about?  Destroying the government? Who the hell wants to do that?  Do you even know what government is?  Lets start there.  What is government in "your" opinion lucky?

Why do you hate America so much? Honestly, tell me.

Again lucky you are drawing conclusions from some remote planet and you want me to answer for your erroneous conclusions and that I cannot do.

I did however open the door and give you the opportunity to sort out how your conclusions are erroneous to you will at least have information to make an informed conclusion but its impossible to go there until we sort out your definitions which seem to be rather....well fucked up.

I forget the code location off the top of my head but FYI negligence and incompetence on the part of the government is fraud in the US code NOT a forgivable "they are just dumbasses" matter.

For Homeland Security to be responsible for every step in the process, as you are arguing they are, then TSA agents would have to be present at every step of the process, from ticket reservations to ticket counter to boarding passes, as well as providing airport security.

The no fly list is supposed to raise flags at each point along the way from reservations to boarding the plane.   As I understand it, at each point there is supposed to be some warning raised as the name is put into the ticket/reservation database.

The implication is that one computer database is not meshing with another one.   The fact that a customs agent caught the name at the final point in the process should indicate that something went right.  Or does that matter?

TheHeretic -> RE: Times Square bomb attempt. (5/5/2010 7:11:43 AM)

Homeland Security is responsible for the outcome, Jlf. You need to man up about that. Anything less just makes you look like a koolaid drinking bootlick.

Real0ne -> RE: Times Square bomb attempt. (5/5/2010 7:13:16 AM)

I agree, but it is still an attempted act of terrorism regardless of who was behind it and what their motivations were.

Terrorists are usually considered people from other countries or other side in a civil war. Not just someone who is a mass murderer. Were the people who mailed anthrax to the Senate terrorists. Not by that definition.

Neither, by that definition was the Unibomber or any fired postal employee who goes postal and shoots up a post office.

We're not saying this is correct, we're saying this may not be the right choice of word. What if it turns out to be an isolationist conspiracy nut from Idaho or Pennsylvania. Will the word terrorist apply then?

That's a pretty nonsensical definition - and a wrong one. By most definitions, a terrorist is somebody who uses terror and fear against civilians to advance a political agenda. Timothy McVeigh, the Unabomber, and most likely also the Anthrax mailer clearly were terrorists. So was shock-and-awe, BTW. On the other hand, USS Cole doesn't fit that definition (and really wasn't terrorism anyway).

Unfortunately, the US has redefined terrorism so broadly that antiterror laws are applied even in domestic violence cases and bullying. That makes the whole term pretty meaningless.

Fast Reply -

According to AP the suspect was a Bush hater.

quote:

Shahzad's behavior sometimes seemed odd to his neighbors, and he surprised a real estate broker he hardly knew with his outspokenness about President George W. Bush and the Iraq war. "He mentioned that he didn't like Bush policies in Iraq," said Igor Djuric, who represented Shahzad in 2004 when he was buying a home.

Djuric said he couldn't remember the exact words Shahzad used about Bush but "something to the effect of he doesn't know what he's doing and it's the wrong thing that he's doing."

http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=D9FGDI7G0&show_article=1

So... he's quite possibly a left wing extremist.
