Some encouraging news at last about the Somali pirate situation ;

It's a big risk to avoid injury or death to the ship's crews, but piracy on the high seas has to be stopped, the world should not be held to ransom by freebooters. Perhaps an incentive not to go into piracy, would be more decisive action on the vessels they use, a few shot up and sunk might send out a clear message, as the death of people seems to not matter much, it is the transport that needs to be taken care of, as people can be found, boats are not so easy.

You'd heard this story about the Pirates being driven out of a couple of their enclaves by islamists militias? Maybe in a month or two's time all of the Americans who've been whining about the pirates being jihadists out to fund the war on the infidels might have a point. Ransoms might well go up a bit, as well.

There was a story today in YahooNews that said that the Russians "let them go."
It said (lol!) "The worst is feared."
The Russian president said "we deal with pirates the way our ancesters did."
Splash 11 pirates.
