My partner and I are delving into the D/s world both for the first time with trust and enthusiasm ... I would love some sound reflection on being an efficient effective Dom.. and good training techniques. We are completely open to the experience and have done a lot of play bondage and spanking etc.. but want to delve deeper ... Advise and suggestions welcome

First, a definition of general terms. A woman in control is called a Domme or Domina. The term Dom generally refers to a man. Since you're posting in Ask a Mistress, I assume that you're female.

With that out of the way, you need to clarify what the two of you want. So far, you've done D/s in the bedroom only. If you want to experiment further there, fine. I'd recommend going to local groups and attending seminars. Our local group Skales has had sessions on impact play in general, whipping, cupping, TPE, etc.

If you want to extend D/s outside the bedroom, then get to meet other couples that live that way and observe. Meet 'em at local groups and just get together with them socially and talk.

Make sure that you and your partner communicate regularly throughout.
